Long overdue promised update Work has been a nightmare these last few weeks. Below are some pics of what the car looks like, it still looks amazing, two months after I picked it up from autolavish. I used Dodo juice supernatural for the wash and Dodo juice Red Mist quickdetailer. I'm also loving the cockpit premium interior cleaner I got. Does a fantastic job cleaning with zero greasy residue. I forget the tire shine brand, but it's water based, so no greasy stuff.
I think it still looks fantastic I also had an intersting issue develop with the car. I had the infamous battery death issue crop up on me. What was interesting was the gap it gave me. I had the christmas tree of lights crop up on me, as expected. The lights that cropped up where the AFS warning, Traction control and Passenger Air bag warning. Based on my reading here, it was simple math, my battery was on it's way out. I figured I had some time to replace it.
The car decided not to start on me the next day on my way back from dinner while getting coffee, after I had driven almost 40 miles that day

Got some inspiration from Carbon Legend and 007spy after seeing their Fusion foglamp retrofit. I decided to tackle my own retro Still haven't installed the bulbs yet, since the kit is coming in tomorrow! But here is what I have so far (yes, I haven't put back the chrome pieces on the bumper yet, don't mind that!) Output pics to come soon!

Kinda hard to get a good shot using a cell phone, I'll try again tonight using a real camera. But 100% worth the work! Turned factory useless fogs into a second set of headlights Very useful since I drive on unlit roads a lot! Still working on a shroud solution thought.
Funny story, there was a cop driving thru the sub-division last night when I was taking pictures (at 11:30 at night ), turns out he was a curious onlooker who really liked the setup and the car! Po-po approved setup!

Nice job. Any chance you can get us some close up pics of the fogs? I've been wanting to do this since Carbon Legend did his. I have a cracked lens on one of my fogs and this is probably cheaper than replacing the OEM fog light assembly. I'm just concerned about end result and having it looking like a hack job.

Honestly, I did the Lexan replacement beforehand (also documented earlier in the thread). The polycarb started to degrade really oddly, and in comparison, it's not that much harder to do this. You would have to remove the glass either way, and polycarb was a pain to cut. With this, you tap a few screws and make a cut for the bulb. Then again, I'm comparing this to my Camry retrofit.
EDIT: If you decide to go the Lexan route, don't worry about smoothing out the edges of where you cut. I left them rough as you can see, since the bumper covers the outer 20% of the lens anyways.

Bump, installed a Blackberry Music Gateway to allow music streaming. I'm gonna quote myself from another thread on this one
Bumping this to the top to have my solution to this documented somewhere on the boards. I ran a site-wide search for this and came across a viable solution on the TL board. The Blackberry Music Gateway is what I used. It's pretty much an A2DP music streaming audio device with an AUX output. It can be bought for under 40$ and comes with almost everything you need. The only additional piece you would need to buy is a 12V cig. adapter to USB to power it up.
The way it works is this: I stash it in the center console and have it plugged in on one end to the cigarette lighter and to the aux input on the other end. When the car comes on, the Gateway comes on and automatically pairs with the phone, allowing music streaming thru the AUX channel in our car.
Now, the money question I'm sure everyone is gonna have, since I had it as well: Will it interfere with HFL functionality? The answer is NO! My Sony Xperia Z has Bluetooth 4.0, which allows multiple devices to be paired simultaneously. So any 4.0 equipped device would operate the same way: You can be streaming music, and when a phone call is received HFL automatically takes over and pauses the music on the AUX channel.
The only extra step comes in when you end the phone call, my phone doesn't automatically resume playback on youtube video's, it only resumes playback on audio music using the walkman app. This may be different on your phone.
Summary: Blackberry music gateway package + 12V gig adapter to usb+ center console= A2DP music streaming without HFL interference for 40$.
Along with the USA-SPEC unit I have, this pretty much puts me at MMC audio interface status, minus a USB jack in the center console

I got a little slammed last week and wasn't able to get things back on the car until last night. Let me say this: What visibility problem? These lights are awesome!! I'm gonna borrow my friend's DSLR over the weekend and take some nice pictures, cell phone does not do this justice My friend looked at it an said the retrofit looks like Acura gave the car with quads, which is what I was going for. Thanks Jason!!!

They aren't awful pictures...
You need to slow down your shutter speed to let more light in.

You should do it! Retrofit source has some Morimoto LED foglights that they are assuring me will fit on our brackets, I'm still debating if I wanna attempt that....

Swapped in morimoto LED reverse lights. I'm a little hesitant to go ahead and buy the morimoto LED turn signals tho...

So I made a bit of a spur of the moment purchase today, found it listed on craigslist for 280$, offered him 240$ to pick it up tonight and he took it... I'm pretty busy these next few weeks, unfortunately won't have the time to devote to the install until the last weekend this month
