Im also local and know a dealership employee as well.

 

I think Stone Mountain would be a great spot for this. $10 bucks to get in the park, great for photos and plenty of parking.

Good to see so many interested in this so quickly. It would be nice to have 20-25 people planning on going before figuring out a location if we were to try and get a local dealer involved.

brandon7583 and james357 I will message you this weekend regarding ideas and what not for locations to put this together at. I appreciate the offers as I am unfamiliar with much of the area myself.

 

There is normally a large local meet either Friday or Saturday night. Last year I believe there was one both nights but we only went to one of them. With this year the location being more south of the city I am not sure what events will be going on.

You guys are coming down for IA correct? We should do a huge roll out for it Sunday.

Not saying I wouldn't go, I'm in either way I just don't really understand doing it at a dealership not much parking and who wants to drive 3-4 hours to hang at an Acura Dealership, maybe I'm missing something

 

There will also be the typical Barrett parkway meet in Kennesaw friday/saturday if I remember correctly. Also who will be getting hotels & where? I know a lot of other honda guys from Tennessee that typically stay off the Barrett parkway exit on 75/575 for IA but that was before it was moved to AMS.

 

They do it every Friday/Saturday night in front of HH Greg parking lot.

We should have a caravan meeting. Earlier times for people more north of ATL. And pick up people on the way. Should be a fun drive. As long as everyone stays right off the interstates to be picked up.

I normally take off Friday morning and make a weekend in ATL out of IA. That way you also beat the Friday evening ATL traffic which sucks. I did it one year in the F and I can't imagine doing it in the TSX with the stiff clutch I have in it.

 

Think im going to take off Friday also. Never been down there or anywhere too far in the TL. Perfect timing, start coordinating mr coordinator lol.

Some miles? I have already put over 2k miles on the car since I picked it up this past october. at the rate I am going I am going to need an oil change when I get back from IA.

I am going to start working on this this weekend. Good to continued interest but I would hope we can get some more still. I know there are lots of members in the specific car sections that do not frequent here. I am going to see if I can get permission to post in those areas.

Only reason I had thought about an Acura Dealer was that it was an Acura forum and with the Lexus forum we did one at a Lexus dealer last year before IA. I also figured it would mean we had no way of getting kicked out by police if it was organized at a business.

I have no problem doing it at another location I just don't really have much knowledge of the area so I will have to rely more on those of you that do so we can get a good meet organized in the vicinity of the area of the meet so that people are having to hike 40-60min away from the area where IA is for this other meet.

I have been to the Barrett Parkway meet the past two years and it was good but this year it will be a hike with IA being so much further south than usual.

 

I see what you are saying Atlanta Motor Speedway and the locations I've suggested are 1 - 1 1/2 hours away. I'm not familiar with the Atlanta Motor Speedway area. Let me know if I can attempt to help in anyway.

 

One idea I do have is maybe have our Seperate Acurazine meet one evening and then grab some dinner followed by heading to one of those other night meets as a group possibly.

How far is that park area? I am not really familiar with that place.
