Battery Fitment Update- Found one @ AAP!

Guys,

My battery died Friday. Autozone had one in stock for $134, but I am a HUGE fan of Advance Auto Parts (AAP) and the myriad of coupons that are easy to find online. They however do not list one for our cars. So measuring tape in hand I went to the store Friday night and found that Part # 34/78-4 is about as close as you can get measurement wise and indeed has a "flush top". Talked to the MGR and asked if I could return it if for some reason I couldn't get it to go, not a problem he said.

Using Coupon Code: DOTW42 which has since expired, but there are a ton more here: http://www.retailmenot.com/view/advanceautoparts.com I was able to get the battery for $85!!

Fit for me was PERFECT, even with the side terminals, there was enough clearance in the box. Dropped right in, no problems whatsoever.

So, FINALLY a battery from Advanced which I know a lot of us like for the same reasons I do (coupons) for $85 out the door.

Hope this helps someone,

Todd

Advance didn't have a flush top for me. Good job, though.

Just to clarify for the rest of us, 007:

Do you mean they didn't have a 34/78-4 (which is what I think you're saying)? Or do you mean they had a battery called 34/78-4 that didn't have a flush top?

Well, I just went to the website and looked at what they have. When I bought mine, I went with the OEM size 24. AAP carries AutoCraft batteries, and the size 24 is not a flush top. Now I can see that the 34/78-4 IS a flush top and appears to be in stock at the same store.

I guess I was confused that the sizes were different but the same. (Different name, same dimensions.)

Exactly why I went in there with a tape measure (well I stole one on their shelf) and measured it. I too wish we had a consolidated battery thread. When I was hunting for advise it was a bear to find anything in the area I like in (Autozone and AAP only). Like I said I hope this potentially helps someone else, or hell, just saves some people some money!

Maybe not the most appropriately named thread, but hopefully comprehensive with more inputs.

Follow the instructions, can be stacked. My battery is now $59! Not a damn thing wrong with that. I may go get one for my wife's QX56 now just cause.
