lets be realistic, ANY catback system for our cars are a waste of money and EVERYONE knows it except for the people that were stupid enough to get sold into buying one,

The tl already runs 2.5 in piping from the cat to the y-pipe.

HMMM feel that 1 bhp, for way to much money, good job

Unless you have the crappy Tl-P exhaust like me! I'd love to have a nice shiny pipe all the way through, the slight weight reduction and a bit of a different sound. If I had the money to burn I would just go with the Tanabe. $800 is rough but hell, some people were paying almost $700 for Comptech's axlebacks. I thought the TL-S exhaust was 2.25? I'll probably pull one off a Type-S one of these days.

... I don't even... There's so much wrong that....

TL-P: 2" Diameter
TL-S: 2.25" Diameter

No 2G TL came with a 2.5" diameter exhaust. Not "EVERYONE" thinks that "ANY" catback is a waste of money. People buy exhausts for the sound, not just the horsepower.

If it was just your opinion, I wouldn't have a problem with your post. But your incorrectly expressing the opinions of "EVERYONE"??

And you're just flat out wrong with any potentially factual information.

^^^+1!!!
Remember, it's more about the sound and quality and less of the HP gained with our cars.
As for what is best, I've seen a lot of people saying ATLP or even a custom catback that can possibly be
2.5in
2.75in
or even the "maximum" of 3in
Anything more and you would lose HP somewhere

Tl-S runs 2.5 from cat to y-pipe and from y-pipe splits into 2.25, I'll get under my car and verify today

I've measured the whole Type S stock exhaust before when I had mine replaced a while back. It's 2.25" OD from cat to Y-pipe and 2" OD from Y-pipe to tips. Wall thickness of the tube is standard...most likely .065 or .083, maybe even thinner (assuming OEM exhaust tubing is 4130 chromoly).
