damn I love acurazine. Becasue of this site I got the Plenums for 400CAD and the headers for 450CAD..

Plus the headers wrapping... 1000 for the 2 installed and that's like 30-40 HP

THANK YOU ACURAZINE. I dunno where I'd be without this site and everyone in it!

HOW CAN I GO ABOUT GETTING AN ACURAZINE STICKER????

it's going right over my 3rd brake light in the window.

yea I got lucky.. i was looking for new dc ones for 2 months and then an azine member PMed me and asked if I wanted them and was local... SO i drove over there and grabbed them the next night.

And plenums make the car FASTER i dunt care what anyone says. and they looks fukin BADASS. Car looks damn good with some chrome. and i polished the manifold cover so it all goes nicely

I'd rather have the plenums vs the TL manifold. even tho the tl manifold is better technically.

Dyno numbers and NEW 1/4 mile times will be coming soon

So it looks like sometime b4 friday night they will be on. I just know need to get the bolts.

Question about the COMPTECH GASKET WHERE IT MEETS THE CAT.

There is still what looks like an o ring gasket there. SO what do I do just bolt that up to my cat? or is there another exhaust o ring. that I need to get or what?

SOMEONE PLZ fill me in..

Aside from that all i need to get are the header o ring gaskets and the 6 bolts and 12 washers.

IS that all i need....

I got the parts for the CAT?? assuming I can get the cat bolts off which I can.

I hate to be critical but I can't believe you wrapped a beautiful set of Comptech headers with that bulls**t wrap, not only is it a waste of money but it's going to do more harm than good if anything.
You will get absolutely no rattle or hum with these headers, that's why they were $1,500 retail, they were the best made for the CL.
I wouldn't reuse old gaskets if that was part of your plan, when I bought mine the guys at comptech reccommended I purchase new stock gaskets for the install and the one's on the car were only a year old. You don't want to take chances with fitment or leaks once bolted to the engine, do it right the first time.
Rip that crap off those headers!

wrap only keeps the heat down in the engine bay and keeps the heat in the headers, which in turn let the exhaust gases flow faster. 2 positives.

their not $1500retail. more like $1100-1200 new.

i reused my stock gaskets when i put on my dc's. no leaks worked great.

kKK to set you straight Sonor Kid 2... I wrapped these headers BECAUSE it keeps HEAT down inside the engine bay by A SHIT LOAD...

You can get outta the car after driving it hard and put ur hand between the rad fan plastic and the header and can leave it there all day.

That's how LITTLE heat radiates from the headers.., and that speeds exhaust gases up by a LOT also so my headers make MORE POWER than YOUR good looking ones.

And headers are not for looks they are barely noiceable. But I did leave the comptech badge exposed on the middle pipe on the front header just so you can be assured they are REAL...

It's all about the PERFORMANCE results. and god damn did i get what i was asking for.

Oh and the headers were USED so they were not chrome when I covered them.

I could not be more happy with the outcome.

BTW it took me LONGER TO WRAP my headers than it did to install them.

Wrapping time = 3 hrs approx. 150$

Install time = 2hrs 20mins. no stopping. $450 cash
CANADIAN FUNDS

The feeling I get when I mash the pedal... PRICELESS.

this car is actually FASTER than i ever thought it could be. Maybe I have a freak CL. who knows, but I'll know on Oct 3rd when we go to Cayuga.... All are welcome to come. Meet is at 1pm

more like the holy shit club. maybe it was because I had all intake mods and then i added the biggest exhaust mod. kinda like the intake mods weren't working 100% cause the exhaust was poo b4.

though I'll never know how much it added. It feels like 30hp at least like at all rpm ranges.

like I took a few of my buddys (at different times obv) out in it already and they got the b4 and after feel... and they were absolutely shocked. like they we just laughing... you know the laugh i'm talking about. when u giggle like a school girl. buahhhhhaahah

so it's definitely not my perception.

The headers were $1,500 when they came out years back, maybe the pricing has come down a bit, remember Comptech relesed these before you guys could drive.
I've been modding the CL here for a long time, I'd seriously doubt your gaining anything by using the wrap, but if you like it that's cool.
Show me a before and after dyno with the wrap on and off and I'll buy into it if it prove reals gains, otherwise it's a waste of time and money in my opinion like a few other mods I've seen people buy into.
Congrats on the headers!

header wrap isnt gonna give u more hp. its gonna keep things cool under the hood. a cooler intake will add more power. when cooler air goes into the engine u burn a bit more fuel but it also adds power, and its better for the engine.

^^^ I've only had my car as long as I've been registered on this site and I've got quite a few mods under the belt so far. But I need to slow down and start saving some money.
I noticed you got the unichip? How is that? any issues, noticeable gains?

Lol so far on mods I have spent:
- $30 on the option pulley ($115 to install cause I didn't have access to a 1000ft/lbs tq impact gun and got it done at the DLR cause I wanted my car faster THAT DAY lol.)
- $50 or so on the gatorback belts
- $350 on injen intake... but my buddy paid 4 it cause I gave him my speakers from my ford probe which i could not sell. So i picked the most expensive on on ebay and got him to buy that.
- P2R Plenums ($400 used)
- P2R tb and manifold thermo gaskets $115 (Cousin bought them for me cause slammed some mods on his car)
- P2R tb spacer $90
- Comptech USA Headers ($450 used)
- DEI Header wrap (150ft) and silicon sealant spray $150
- Progress RSB ($200)
- Moog end links ($50) ($60 to install cause old end link bolts were seized)
- ACURA wood grain steering wheel ($160)
- RIMS $900 installed
- ACURA all season floor mats front $140
- ACURA trunk liner $150 (B day present)
Grand TOTAL OF $3410 CAD installed and trouble free MINUS 115+350+150 that I didn't pay for = $2795

and that's NOTHING, still had to buy the car, get raped at the DLR for like 2500 more doing everything under the sun to make it brand new. plus the tranny went on me.

But the car is worth every penny in my mind.

Now that I am done my car I'm gonna go back to saving. Something I have been horrible at recently lol.

yes I know I over paid those.. and like i said about the intake I didn't pay for it so I chose the most expensive one. Sway bar I wanted new cause I wanted new bushings and mounts and that grease. And no problems so far so that's good. I actually bought that locally off JRP and there price was 300! so I showed them excellerate's price and he dropped it to 200 taxes in so that aint so bad.

And floor mats... I didn't wanna look for so I nabbed them at the stealership.

And maybe you didn't notice I live in Canada. $ is higher all the time. HUGE shipping charges and duty fees

If it adds power then it will show up in a dyno, pure and simple.
Show me gains before and after on a dynojet and I'll buy it, otherwise it's all snake oil and bs.
I've seen people think a high flow cat added gains too, it added 2 to 3 extra hp but the car would lose 10 to 15lbs of torque in the process as backpressure is also important.
Either way put the car on the dyno or buy mods that are dyno proven, that's why I love Comptech since everything is designed specifically for our cars and extensively dyno tested.

I bought the Unichip as part of a groupbuy years back, it included about 40 guys who wanted a cutom mapped plug and play chip dyno tuned for Comptech headers intake and exhaust.
I like it, added 10 to 12 hp on the dyno with 93 octane.

Header wrap doesnt add power, just as Rajca said, but it will protect you from heat soak.

Heat soak is what kills power over back to back runs. If you want to see a difference, you cant just do before and after runs. You need to do 4-5 runs without a cool down in between. You will see that the car with header wrap, or header coating, will be more efficient regarding temps and the heat soak wont reduce power over time.

Its not an instantaneous gain. You may not even notice it on the road. But its for cooling efficiency. If you dont believe in it, then dont get it. Its just like the tb coolant bypass mod. Some people notice a difference, some dont.
