Wiring dash cam to rear view mirror power supply

Hi there everyone, I am interested in installing a dash cam for my TSX but doesn't want to deal with all the long wirings... Is it ok to hard wire the dash cam onto the rear view mirror diming power supply? I believe the wire is protected by a 10A fuse? Thanks in advance guys.

Regards,

Not sure if the rear view mirror wire is hot only when ignition is on, or always on. If it's the former and your dash cam has a "parking" mode, you may not be getting the power you need when the car is turned off. If this is not a feature you care about, then this should be fine.

I have done it (powered only with ignition) and it works great.
