What% tint for CBP?

Guys,

Going to get the car tinted this week, and want your opinion on what % tint looks the best on Black TSX. I would appreciate your feedback.

Thanks,
- iamitman

Liking the 15% tint, might be a shade too dark. Thanks!

A few things you need to ask yourself:

What is legal in my jurisdiction?
Are tint laws enforced?
Do I want to be able to drive my car in anything but the brightest sunshine?
Do I want my auto dimming mirror to work?
Do I want UV/heat protection or do I just want to look ghetto?

No. Had my Mazda 3 with Tint for 6 years with no pullovers for tint.

I am used to driving a car with 20% in all lighting conditions.

Do I want my auto dimming mirror to work?
Either way I am protected with bright lights!

It will be nice to not burn my hand on the shift knob or get skin cancer, looks are a good side effect. Tint does not look ghetto on upscale cars/brand new cars.

I believe it depends more on your interior. If I had the tan interior I would've gotten 20-25% but since I have black I stuck with 35%. Honestly wish I went a little darker but I'm satisfied with the way it looks.

Thanks for the input guys. I think I will got with either 20 or 25%. I don't want the tint to appear darker than CBP!

20-25% for a sportier look, 35% or lighter for a more upscale look

Just had my silver/taupe '12 done today with 35%. I did it mainly for practicality more than looks. Looks better than I thought it would, though!

Look for my pictures but I have the CBP wagon. I have 20% all around and 35% on the front windshield. Love how it looks, and wouldn't go lighter.

All these guys don't know what they're talking bout, honestly. If you want a really nice tint, go with 0%. It's the best tint hands down. You can even do it yourself, too! Here's a link to a DIY kit!

I agree on the 20% as well. I have a CBP with 35% on the 4 sides and 20% in the back. I wish I could have gotten 20%, but the car inspection people check the tint around here and would fail me if I didn't have the right tint.

I have 20% tint in the rear windows and 70% in the front. I decided to go for 70% because I didn't want to risk getting pulled over by cops (since it's illegal to have your front windows tinted), and for the UV protection for my interior/leather seats. This combination looks great to me.

^ 5% all around sounds ridiculous.

Im quite happy with my 35%. When its cloudy outside it looks plenty dark to me, I have ebony interior.

here's my former '09 CBP that I had, 32% all around except windshield, ebony interior. Plenty dark if you ask me. The darker the tint, the cheaper your car tends to look IMO...

Thanks for the input guys! I will be somewhere between 20-25%. Just waiting for the registration sticker so I can pull the temporary tags off the rear windshield.

Enjoy! I love 20% and have had it on my Black Volvo S40 and my Black Ford Focus ZX5. It just suits black cars.

maybe just needs a new pic =P i know all about the facing towards the sun or under a light, hate that shit. makes my tints disappear sometimes. your front windows arent tinted? they look a bit darker than stock. i didnt mean front windshield if thats what you meant. i meant the front doors are 35, the back doors and rear windshield are 20
