The Official 2009 TSX Thread **Unvelied in NY**
hello everyone -
i'm a former tsx owner (traded for an IS250 when my lease was up), and a current 2005 MDX owner. we went test drive the 2008 MDX today. anyway, while we were there the salesman was telling me about the 2009 TSX. he said it would be out late summer of next year and it's supposed to be awesome! he showed me a pic and it did look pretty sharp. it almost had an A4 back side (only saw side shot) and aggressive styling like the IS. he said it was gonna be a hot car. he also said that in 2009 acura is suppsoed to be launching 3 brand new models too and the updating the RL and CL...although probably not a 2 door (that he knew of yet anyway).
just thought i'd share, not sure if anyone's already posted anything about it.

I dunno, sounds dubious. The CL was discontinued, so that would be a re-introduction, not an updating. I'd like to see the picture but I bet it would just be an image of the Sports 4 concept.

so what you are saying is that the salesman had a pic of the 2009 tsx? I find that hard to believe since acura is tight on information given out...but if its true do you think every dealer has a pic?

3 new models in 2009? Yeah right. More like 2 redesigns and that's it. The redesigned RL probably won't be out till 2010 because it's a year behind the TSX and TL. Your salesperson isn't feeding you correct info.

The TSX is going to be the LAST FWD I'm ever going to purchase, so if the 2009 models (TSX and TL) are still FWD,
I may be going towards Germany.......perhaps Bavarian Motor Werks?

Oh, and BTW, I think the back of the sports4 DOES look a bit like the old old A4:

We're especially excited for the next iteration of the TSX, because along with a 20 - 30 bump in horsepower for its rev-happy 2.4L four-cylinder, we're also expecting an S-Type model powered by the same 260+ HP motor in the Acura RDX. We've sampled that mill before, and are addicted based on what it can do in a CUV. The 2009 Acura TSX S-Type, however, should be on a different level entirely. Torque steer is an issue, as the TSX is and always has been front-wheel drive. We have faith Honda engineers, some of the best in the biz, can quell it, though. (NOTE: Thanks to the astute reader who reminded us the Type-S model will have S-AWD, which should irradicate any hint of torque steer.)

The info posted along with it is questionable but makes perfect sense IMO. 220-230 HP FWD base model to keep it at 30K and a a Turbo AWD Type-S to answer what most of us have been asking for. Can't wait!!
Lets just hope those wheels don't see the light of day. Lets also hope they get the styling right.

If the AWD turbo rumors are true I will likely be coming back to Acura after my lease on the TT is up.(assuming it's not a 3500 lb porker) That should give Acura a couple model years to fix the initial bugs and develop some aftermarket support.

Acura is great but any manufacturer will have first year model bugs. Personally my 04 has turned me off owning a first model year, but given 1-2 years to work out all the bugs I'm sure the new TSX will be an excellent choice.
Edit: Before Dom tries to "own" me. Yes my TT will be a first model year here in the USA, but it's been out for a year in Europe. It will also be covered under warranty the entire time I have it.

Do we know if its the same platform? Pics look promising. Plates are from Ohio, I'm guessing its going to be built in Marysville? There goes the "Its 100% made in Japan, so it must be perfect" crowd
