Smile If you had a CBP TSX, keep chrome grill or paint match?

Sorry guys, I don't mean to spam this forum with grill threads but I wanted to get all of your input.

I have a 2010 Acura TSX in CBP. If you had the same car, would you keep the chrome grill or would you paint match it?

I can get it done at a reputable auto body shop for only 50 bucks.

paint matching would be the first thing i do. i'd drive the lot off the dealership straight to the autoshop and have it painted

black looks amazing with a black out grille!

so the place im planning on getting the paint matching done has a strong reputation. he should already know that he needs to take the bumper off right? or do i need to tell him that?

haha you should be fine. you can just ask him what the process will be, if he doesnt mention anything about removing the grille, then ask if he'll do that

Flip a coin? lol. I thought to myself that I wanted to do something to the grille but didn't want to get a full paint match because I didn't want to look 100% like kowloon so I only painted the Upper trim and left the lower trim as is and painted my fog frames metallic. And getting it done for 50 is really cheap so I would definitely go for it b/c I got outrageous quotes ranging from 120-160 just for the upper trim. Lastly it's truly up to you what you do. Don't make your car look a certain way because others tell you to. Do what you think looks best.

^^^^^^^^^^^ IMO, i would NEVER shop an appearance MOD by price alone. especially paint that you want to look good and last a few years.

but thats me/

OP I vote for colormatch!

so my car is at the shop right now.

he's actually charging around what most people in this forum have paid because he thought my car would be the 1st gen TSX, in which case, you could just pop the grill out.

i'm still getting it done though.

I would have figured you would have just taken the grille off yourself and given that to them, that way you still have your car to drive.

Paint matched on cbp looks really nice, good choice.

i'm a pansy when it comes to do anything to he body of my car. i figured i should leave it to a professional. i know it's easy to take the bumper off but id much rather have someone guide me through it if i ever chose to take it off myself.

$50 wouldnt pay for half the materials need to do that grille properly, it needs to be completed taken off, taken apart, sanded down in evey nook and ranny, epoxy primered, then base coat clear and wet sand polish.

So it turns out that he thought I had the first generation TSX. So when he saw my second generation, he gave me another quote and he quoted me $205. I agreed to do it and even though they were flexible enough to do it for me and one day when it was supposed to take two, they me a discount. I was pretty damn happy with the results. My car looks pretty sweet.

He went over the procedure with me via email. He told me that he would take the bumper off then the grill then send it then prime then painted then clearcoat.

Forgive the commas because there are none in that last sentence. I'm using my iPad microphone.

I'm very satisfied with the modification

I think paintmatching looks good on the CBP but unfortunately makes it look like a Camry...

A camry honestly looks more like a TL but I do like the paint matched grille look on the TSX.
