Acura Financial = Honda Financial?

Guys,
Im sorry if this is the wrong section, but is Acura Financial the same thing as Honda Financial?

Basically, If I get approved for 0.9% thru Acura Financial for a TSX, change my mind and end up buying an accord, will I have to reapply?

They are the same but different. You would probably need to reapply anyway if you're going to a different dealer. Your credit info does not transfer from dealer to dealer (and that's a good thing right?).

It all used to be Honda Financial, but last year Acura Financial split from Honda Financial as its own.

Not sure if you'd have to reapply though; as others have stated, they are essentially synonymous for those parties that give a damn (insurance, credit checking, etc.)

I was told it was the same. When i traded my 08 Accord (honda finance) and traded for acura, all they did wasn run my credit but they didn't even check my income this time. No pay stubs etc. I was told that it was because i made every payment on the accord early or ontime. Most dont even know that if you make your payment on-time for 6mo, honda/acura finance will allow you to skip a payment twice a year. I needed to do his once because I was in the hospital with a bladder infection for a week.

They are the same. It's because you are going to a different dealer that the rate may change. The payments for my TSX and my wife's for that matter both go to Honda finance.

I can tell you for sure that they are the same. My wife works for Honda Financial. The reason why they created the Acura Financial name was to make Acura customers "feel" like they were dealing more with a luxury line to distinguish it from Honda Financial. I hope this explains it.
