At what mileage did you guys replace the brake fluid, how much did it cost, does it matter which brand of brake fluid I use?

Car is @ 63K miles

Thank you guys.

Doesnt matter what brand....just make sure its DOT 3 compatible.

DOT 5 is BAD AND YOU WILL MESS UP YOUR CAR.
DOT 5 is silicone based and will ruin the rubber seals inside the braking components

Thanks man, got that taken care of.

I don't want to start a new thread so ill type my remaining inquiries herre

So far I've only done oil changes and air filters at the recommended times. I think I need to flush out the coolant. Is therr a specific brand that I need to use for that also? I heard I don't need to worry about the transmission oil until 100K miles from acura. Any other services I need to take care of?

For my cars i like to use OEM fluids but thats just preference and for a brake flush its a real pain in the ass without a vacuum bleeder.

OEM fluids... exclusively. HOWEVER... I use ATE superblue brake fluid for brakes. I don't get my brakes hot enough for it to matter, but it makes me feel like a racer

I havent done the brake fluid flush yet. Will on the next rear brake change. However for coolant I did it recently at 63K. Use 1.5 gallons of coolant. Just regular drain and fill. I used the Honda/Acura coolant.

As for the transmission I've done a 3x drain&fill at 35K and a 1x at 63K. I'll do the next 1x drain&fill at 80K. I am going to try keep a 15K 1x drain and fill.

Thank you guys.
I like to use the Honda ATF, brake fluid, and PS fluid, but as far as the coolant goes, anything that meets the spec should be OK (and for the MT cars, the clutch uses the same fluid as the brakes). The brake fluid does not have a mileage interval; it's time based. It doesn't really "wear" the way some other fluids do, it's hygroscopic (absorbs water), so that's why it should be replaced on schedule (for a Honda, that's every 3 years). All that said, I have the dealer do the brake fluid change (no flush, just change, and I assume they use Honda branded brake fluid).
