TLX Front License Plate Bracket
- Does Acura ship cars from Ohio directly to dealers (or is there an intermediary stop that does prep like that done for imported vehicles)?
- Does Acura pre-drill mounting holes at the factory for the front license plate bracket?
- Can you mount the bracket on the underside of the horizontal body-colored area of the front bumper?
- Any other mounting alternatives?

And if you have any mechanical ability ask for the bracket and screws and do it yourself or make it clear you want it perfectly centered and level. They usually just use cordless drivers and do it quick. Every once in a while it ends up crooked (you know how I know) and you don't want to have them redo it after drilling through the bumper. May turn out right but as the saying goes "you want it done right .......". Then again a slightly crooked plate bothers me for some reason.
I would mark the holes and pre-drill a smaller size and then mount the bracket. The person at the dealer, often times the sales person, just holds the bracket against it and just drives the screws through, sometimes the get a little off before getting through the bumper. Front plates required here and I can't stand it. Car looks so much better without. Many here don't mount it as I see it all the time. It's a ticket risk though but with how many I see without it they must not go after people much. See it most on porsche, bmw and audi. I tried it on my first TLX after took my new car tag off and just mounted the back plate. Got pulled over in 4 miles for no front plate. Makes me mad I see so many other cars all the time with no front plate. I almost have to think they just let certain cars get by with not complying.

The dimples for the holes seem to be part of the factory mold. While required in CA, most Type-S’ on the showroom floors that I’ve seen don’t have the front plates attached.

Sorry I Know this is off topic but I cannot figure out how to make a post in here. The admins say I must make 5 posts but how in the hell do you do it. And since I'm a new member I cannot message the admins to ask them. So stupid. Thank you!

Follow-Up 1: Front License Plate Bracket
- Dealer agrees to not mount front license plate bracket (FLPB). He will not drill any holes.
- I ordered an aftermarket mount that does not require the drilling of any holes. See https://www.slybrackets.com/store/
- I'll follow-up again after attaching aftermarket mount.

I agree with you. Initially, I'll carry the mount in the trunk. If stopped, I'll show it to the officer/trooper and maybe just get a warning. I'll see how it goes.
Thanks.
Thanks.

you'll find that most police officers will be too busy to pull you over for a license plate infraction.
however, if you get pulled over for a moving violation, they will be quick to pile on the missing plate along with other infractions.
another rare situation will be coming home from bars and clubs, where the officer will look for an infraction to pull you over on the suspicion of driving under the influence. but I doubt that will be a situation you put yourself through

License Plat Cover
LOL. I was once stopped and issued a citation by a Maryland Transportation Authority officer (aka Tunnel Cop) for having a clear rear license plate cover. No points, just a fine. Judge dismissed the case.
