Does anyone know if the 2016 ILX requires a separate bracket for the front license plate? Or can the license plate be put on the front bumper by itself without any special plastic bracket? Also, my car didn't come with front plates since I bought it in Georgia. Now in South Korea for military, I need front plates and will probably need to drill holes into the front bumper and so, could this be done by the vehicle processing center or the license plate distributor?

 

the holes should be predrilled already, i have a small license plate mount that came with the car, check under the trunk cover, maybe its in there

i would assume you need to just force the screw in there or drill the plastic...

For states that require a front plate (like here in California) the car comes with a front license plate bracket. In your case you could either order a bracket from Acura although it might not fit a NK license plate, or just bend the plate in the middle and use the existing hole pattern.

The only problem with not using a bracket is that mounting the plate directly onto the bumper will cause rub marks and scratch the paint of the bumper for when you return to Georgia and no longer have a plate.

 

Make that a S.K. license plate, don't think your going to the North!
