Official TLX Type S Dealer experience + MSRP/ADM thread
I am starting this thread from an excellent user suggestion in another thread. Please post dealers offering MSRP and ADM (markup), and whether they are allowing test drives on their demo units, here. Any extraneous posts will be deleted. When I have time later today, if another mod doesn’t get to it first, I will move posts, or copy them, from the thread in which they are mentioned. This thread will remain unlocked as long as dealers are adding markups.

I picked up a Apex blue with red Type S over the weekend. I had eyes on it from Pauly Acura in Highland Park, IL. They wanted $5k ADM. No extra accessiories added. I was able to talk them down to $2,500 and sadly I agreed. My pride hurts but driving is a thrill. I drove 2 hours to Chicago to sell my 15’ TLX V6 to carvana and immediately went to the dealer after. Experience was great, they didn’t offer test drive so it only 4 miles on the car. Also I had my credit Union back me so I literally walked in and gave them a check and walked out. Besides some phone calls to negotiate the price it was the fastest car buying experience to date for me. I accepted ADM knowing that my 15’ TLX may not have the same value next spring as today.
Apparently the car has been on the lot since Sep, VIN ends 0988. They sold 3 other Type S which arrived after this one but no one wanted this color combo. Someone did attempt to buy but couldn’t get financing. This is my 5th Acura, never bought another maker. This is the best Acura/car I’ve driven. So much fun. Driving home from Chicago was amazing. I stopped by Morton Grove Acura on the way home to pick up All season mats. Current mods scheduled/ordered, are tinted windows, side skirts (I will install myself)and ceramic paint protection. I might replace the tires for winter and keep the stock wheels. I have my eyes in Enkei tsr-x wheels for summer. Maybe in bronze.
Thanks for everyone who posted their experience with an S. It really made the choice simple. I did test drive one back in the summer so it was a matter of getting $$$ ready. If your torn about it just do it!!
Heard back from some more: largely no demo drives...BUT there's one out in the boonies that claim they won't be marking it up. I guess I should start summarizing if it's helpful for others to know which dealerships not to bother wasting their time with.

I just ran a quick errand a couple of towns from me and stopped by Bridgewater Acura for an upclose look at the TLX-S in their show room. They're advertising it at MSRP but, there's a $10k ADM tacked on in the showroom.
Currently, it's tagged with a 'not ready for sale' sticker on the windshield.
Worthy of note is a beauty of an M340i xDrive being sold for less on the lot of BMW of Bridgewater which is close by.

Acura of Memphis- quoted me MSRP if i had 1k deposit. Put deposit down in May. Just got a text message from dealer stating sales manager marked up $5000. Needless to say I pulled my deposit.
Gary force Acura: told them what happened. Quoted MSRP with no mark up with deposit. We will see….
Needless to say this place is a bunch of bait and switch experts. Placed a 10k deposit on the car back when the announcement date was revealed and told the dealer that I was willing to purchase the car if it was for MSRP… no BS strings attached etc etc. So went in after several texts to the sales manager and he said no problem so made the appointment, showed up and the car is in the show room… I proceed to ask about the test drive and they literally said the car sold this morning and they don’t want to put any mileage on the car?? So I asked them about the 60 days and what not and they said sure it’s “pre-sold” but will be on the showroom floor until the 60 days is up.. I proceed to walk around the car and look at the sticker and saw the price! Needless to say there was nothing further I need to hear from them… got my deposit back and proceed to tell them they will not be getting my business again.

MSRP + 10K for a Carbon Fiber Package (installation of carbon fiber spoiler, door insterts, etc.) and a $1600 package the dealer puts on most cars.
Test drive: Yes (I purchased an RDX from the same dealer, so this might have made a difference).
FWIW - the car drives GREAT. I would totally buy one at $54K. $66K Not so much...
I'm going to inquire if the ones that are coming to the dealer but aren't there yet will also have the carbon fiber package. Sales rep (a guy who actually knows his cars) said he's waiting until the next MY to buy his in the hope of some upgrades (heated steering wheel and 365 camera).

Demo might be available for sale after 60 days. $5k down to place the order. Order is custom to whatever you want. He thinks it could be delivered sept/oct if ordered today. They have a Tiger Eye on ordered to deliver around late July/ eArly August. Won’t be a demo and will be sold ASAP. Not sure of it’s markup.

Clean window sticker from Acura of North Scottsdale (Penske dealer). We'll see if it's just an "unofficial" ADM or they put on a bunch of accessories or something (EDIT: nope it's $5k ADM):
Fun fact, Type S's with the performance wheels from the factory are going to have a "9" in the digit on the VIN number circled. Also this is the 91st car if the end digits are sequential.

John Eagle in Houston, TX wants almost 70K for their Type S. They have it sitting on the showroom floor, like it’s something special. They also had at least a dozen white TLX sitting on their lot. Good luck with that.

Had my deposit in last year, plan was 30k down, Finance for 5yrs.
GM decided that the allocations they get, they are not going to do TD's, even the demos they get, they would rather keep the mileage low. Took my depo back and will not return.

Test Drive: Yes, no strings attached, no deposit required.
Comments: Probably the best dealership in Minneapolis. Deposits are refundable up until you take the keys, no pressure.
Bloomington Acura - Minneapolis, MN

Test Drive: No, demo is sold.
Comments: Staff was slow to respond, promised test drives to the original deposit placers and then backed out. With Buerkle just on the other side of town go give them your business instead so you can get a test drive in to be sure on your purchase.
White Bear Acura - St. Paul, MN
ADM: Yes, think it was $10,000 back in may.
Test Drive: Unknown.
Comments: Laughed at ADM and haven't spoken since. May have changed their mind since May.
Went in yesterday to see if they had any Type-s in stock. They had a black one in the show room and a tiger eye in the back somewhere but was told both are already sold at 20k above MSRP... That's wayy too much for a car at this level
