First Car, First Acura, So Excited!
Hi everyone! New here, lots of new going on in this post. I just recently leased my new 2021 Acura TLX w/ Tech, FWD, and I absolutely love it. It's my first car (under my name at least), and I couldn't be happier.
I definitely prefer the front over the rear, but the side-view is definitely pretty too I caved and bought the Acura Care when talking with finance, about $800 which is supposed to cover routine maintenance for 3 years. Not sure if that was the best idea, but I did it, and paid in full. It at least gives me one less thing to worry about I guess. I live at home so I had a little extra to spend, and I just can't stop driving! I drove a base Subaru Impreza in college, and it definitely feels good to have auto-climate.
I watch car reviews daily and had mixed feelings with the TLX initially, but once I saw it in person it's like that all washed away The interior is as roomy as needed, and the power/handling is good enough for me!
We already have two Lexuses in the family, and an older ILX. I like to think mine is the prettiest! The infotainment is way overblown as well I think, it works really well and isn't distracting in my opinion.
I also test drove a Sonata N-Line and I was really impressed with the Highway Driving Assist. Acura's LKA is good enough though, and I should really be paying attention anyways. I've had the car for about a week and already drove 900 miles, washed it three times, and hoping to get a ceramic coat on!
Excited to buy-out at the end of my lease, if I don't get tempted by a new one, and really start to make it my own.
Price Breakdown:
MSRP: 42525
My Price: 37422
Mileage: 12k
Term: 36month
Residual 57%
MF: 0.00052
Monthly: $341

Congrats on the new car. That colour with the light grey interior is definitely a sweet looking combination. Definitely think about the ceramic coating for the exterior, particularly with the dark colour.

Congrats! But you should have bought Audi just joking! This car isn't good according to "real enthusiasts of North America" We have a bunch of those here. They are so much in love with Honda/Acura that they bash the brand all day but yet they sleep here. They will tell you you made a bad choice.

Definitely love the gray. Always been a fan of lighter interiors so I'm super glad I picked up this combo! I have never done much detailing work myself, so I'm thinking of getting someone to do it for me? Or just watch lots of Youtube....we'll see

My personal plan FWIW for a new factory car is to run out the recommended break-in period before I start to decide what I want to do & what order I want to do it in.

I would just run the car for a few months before I did anything to it. After that I think your wants will just fall into place. Have built a number of cars from the frame up & modified any number of factory new cars including a TL (lighting, brakes & tires).

Congrats! Only hiccup for me would be for the dealer to include TIRE & WHEEL INSURANCE
NY, & NJ roads , SUCK! Every blown tire is $250+; every bent rim is $800-1,000
Just enjoy; I've had 8 Acura's, since '98, & the new TLX is the best yet; GREAT CAR!

ohhh good to know! I bought the car in DC, but I actually live in PA. I don’t remember them mentioning anything like that…

You may want to go the full distance of your state's Lemon Laws before even thinking about making modifications to your TLX!

I don't mean to scare you but here's a really bad experience from another member who bought his car very far from where he lived:
