Post What do you guys think?

I used heat resistant "Chevy Orange" engine paint on the turn signal bulbs for my clear tails... A generous dose....The lights in real life look funky..a reddish orangish color....contemplating if I should keep it this way or get the amber bulbs to avoid any confrontations with the authorities..wadya think? keep 'em or get rid of 'em?

Look fine to me, but I'm probably the only person on the board who likes amber (yellow) - I actually like the amber lenses on the front and rear, and wouldn't ever change 'em. I never did like cleared-out lenses, but yours look fine.

Remember those little blue dots that people put in brake lights? Thay were popular in the 50s, and the effect was that the lenses looked red normally, but when you hit the brakes they lit up in a cool purplish color. Old skool hot-rodder stuff.

Yeah but I'd bet it still looks pretty orange even when the bulb is not lit since you can see through the cleared tail and see the colored bulb.

I'd like to find either clear looking bulbs that burn red or orange or I'm gonna say screw it and put in clear bulbs. Anyone know how much the ticket is?

Gomez you're not the only one who likes the amber turn signals and would never change them, I too like them. On the other hand, I also like the cleared out look.

Shoofin'TL I like the effect that you've achieved with your turn lights, looks cool.

Personally I wouldn't be too concerned about the cost of the ticket. Much more concerning to me would be how much I would need to hire a good lawyer when someone accuses you of blinding them with those "super whites" and causing a pile-up! Just my opinion...

Nate, there is another reflector covering the bulb itself, so there is a very very faint orange color that you can see if you are standing right in front of it, otherwise you can't really see it..

Super whites causing an accident? If you're serious, whateva man.

Hopefully I'll have the tails soon! I'll stick a colored bulb in there and see how it looks before I go super white.

Not sure if this is blinking or not?

Ever drove behind a guy with a busted tail-light at night?? Fairly blinding if you ask me...

Nate, that's my car in the pic u linked..Andrew took a pic while the bulb was turning on or off...I will take a pic of the car without the blinkers on to show that you can barely see the bulb color when it's off. And yes, hyper white turn signals are annoying.
