Can't really remove the screw with a Torx T-20 driver. The screw has the shape of the T-20 but in the middle, there is a notch sticking up that the T-20 driver doesn't have (flat) so it won't fit in..This is on the 2002 TL so I'm not sure if older TL's screw are different or what...anyways, bought a set of Torx driver..totally useless.. I used a small nose plier to turn the screw bit by bit until it comes off..i'm going to use a regular screw to put the damn thing back together...let's face it, that little torx screw ain't going to prevent thieves from jacking the HID lights if they wanted to..they just simply break it off with the screw driver..why bother something useless like that and making life harder for owners .....Acura???

Anyone has this problem?

I used a standard Torx tool and just filed down the pin with my dremel. I did this just a tiny bit just so I could fit the top of the torx tool into it, then apply a lot of pressure and begin turning. Be careful and try not to strip it otherwise your out of luck

you can get torx drivers with a hole in the middle

thats a tamper proof screw and is very common in the security business ... you can get the tip from a number of sources for a few bucks ,,,,,but as you can see there are a number of harder ways to get it off if u wanted to. Thx man..I got the damn thing off with a good old pair of plier. I'm going to use a regular screw (same thread size) to reinstall it. That "security" screw is not going to do any good in preventing thief anyways.

I just picked up a regular torx t-20 bit and tried it on the screws... My right headlight screw turned easily. The left required some muscle but still turned. randomwalk is right. There's not much that screw can do.

Why don't you just use small flat head driver?? I removed the screw easily.

That screw isnt really to prevent theft, but more as a safety measure, theres a ton of voltage going through there. Just use a small flathead, thats what I did.

i never said theft proof because as everyone knows they take the whole headlight assembly not just the hid kit.

T-20 Torx Security Bit set, sold at ADI Or any security system dealers. Where they sale CCTV systems, Intrusion Systems, and Access Control Systems. It is a Common installation tool in the security industry. Definitely is a pain in the *** to get out. Good Luck!!

Oh my god! Thank goodness you came along Ron Mcdonald. He's been waiting 15 years for an answer, and now he finally knows where to buy a T-20 security bit. It must have been rough for him to drive without his headlights for all these years.
