Odd sounds from under the dash

Hi guys,

On my 2000 tl, while driving with the ac on, I have heard what I can only describe as a "gurgling" noise comming from under the dash. Everything works, I was just wondering if any of you experienced this, of is this is a sign of.....?

Thanks,
Jason

HAHA, i have the same issue, it almost sounds like a DICE is boggleing around inside of a plastic box. And its only once in a blue moon that it makes that noise. The noise only occurs when the AC is running at random times. correct me if im wrong but it sounds like its comming from underneath the dash where the glove box is. That portion of the dash, relative area. Its weird and ive always wondered whats make that noise too. I really dont know what it is. Maybe someone on here who has fixed this can tell us.

Never had that sound, but I remember a story of a person who had a similar rattling noise near their sunroof.

Took it to a shop...found nothing...
Took it to the dealer...found nothing...
Took apart the dash...nothing...
Put the car back together only to realize that it was their sunglasses rattling around in the holder up by the roof...

This probably doesn't help ya, but I think it's a funny story.

Now see, that link there, and the issues described in there could be the reason to our noises but the thing is that, when i hear the noise, if i turn off the air conditioning, the boggleing noise stops. If i turn it back on right after, the noise will continue but then it stops after like 30 seconds and then i wont hear it again for a long time at a random time. Obviously its something with that box for the A/C. But i dont think it would be a flap or whatever they were saying that opens and closes, going bad. It literally sounds like an object just kinda juggling around. Almost sounds like the beginning sounds of when pop corn begins to pop sorta. Ill see if i can get my car to make the sound again and then capture the sound on camera so you all can hear it and see if were all hearing the exact same thing.

See my posts there. Yep, when you turn the Air Cond. off it will stop. It is INTERMITTANT. It comes and goes in my 99TL. Sometimes I don't hear for Weeks then BINGO, it starts doing it again. You can put your hand on the valve that makes the noise. SEE THE DIAGRAM. That will confirm where the problem is.
