Help... CE light came on....
Hope you guys can point me in right direction.
It has been just more than a week that I bought my acura and I have been enjoying that since the day I bought.
But today, while driving the car to work, I slowed down at a signal and when I raised it, I heard a roaring sound coming for few seconds and it stopped and both TCS and CE light came on. I pulled over and switched off the engine and I restarted again and the TCS light went off but the CE light stayed on.
I stopped by Autozone and checked for any error codes and it came out to be P0730 - Incorrect Gear Ratio.
Now I am worried. What might be the problem? Is it Transmission Problem? Any idea if this is going to be a serious problem? How much is it going to cost me?

Where did you buy it a dealer? If so you may want to go back to them and see if they have any coverage on it. It sounds like you may be having a trans problem.
What year and how many miles?

Did buy that from a toyota dealer not an acura dealer. It is a 2001 3.2TL and it has 75k miles on it. I did call the acura services and I registered my car and asked about the recall information and the tranny warranty has expired.
Can anyone point me where I can get my car checked out? I live north of chicago.

That really sucks but u got taken...
Alot of people will get the tranny code flush the fluid reset code and trade car in knowing the tranny WILL fail. I would run back to the DLR i know in nj WE GARENTEE POWERTRAIN 30 DAYS 1000 MILES BUY LAW but every state is different. Did u sign something that was on the car that says something bout warrenty? If you bought as is then u are screwed i just had mine rebuilt for $3000 acura will charge $4500...

why do you think so many people get one that fails in a month --
someone felt it slipping and not knowing about the special warranty-
went to aa~co and were told rebuild price,,maybe got sold a ~flush~ as a way to keep running,,, but it was dex3 fluid- the TL trans killer
-You get the idea
sometimes its private party sales, but most people have a hard time looking you in the eye if they know the trans is history, so those cars get offed on a trade in at the dealer., The dealer tech says its a bummer car and it gets shipped to the wholesaler and often moved across the country in the next sale from florida to ca...no record of the trans prob...
If you are lucky and did your homework- its still a warranty covered unit- I consider that a bonus! fresh trans with your used car~
If not so lucky...
Amazingly few buyers do the research for the info found here in the tranny failure thread,,I found azine by typing TL+ problems and tranny failure thread was first listing!
for used car salesmen and the trans they dont know has a problem becausde they dont drive the cars or own one: Its a good looking car!- you look good in this car!!. you should buy this car!!
it says it needs what? the radio code? we will call the dealer for that and have it before you pick the car up,,,lets go to the finance manager while the car is washed
They dont even know what to do to get the radio code!!

Damn... sad to hear this. I also had a problem just a day after buying it from a dealer. Now, this was just a small dealer. I started up my car the next day only to find the CEL, VSA, and the caution lights on. Ran the codes and found out i needed to get new spark plugs. But yeah.. like 01tl4tl said, all the dealers are focused on selling cars, not telling you about the previous history.

Did you contact the dealer ou bought it from to see if they will stand behind what they sold you? I would try that first. If not Acura Brookfield in Milwaukee is a pretty good dealer and usually works with acura corporate to try to come to a good resolution.
