Headliner Removal Guide?

Hello all. I'll trying to attack the suroof lid rattle (not sqeak) issue. I want to remove the headliner but I don't want to screw it up. Can someone tell me what components need to be removed to do this properly?

Thanks!
P.S. I did a search and can't find anything under "headliner removal"

1. remove the rubber weather stripping/seal from the inside of the door frame, not all of it, just off the top of the frame
2. remove A-pillar molding
3. remove seat belt from B-pillar, if you pop off the plastic piece with the button on it, you will see the bolt
4. remove the B-pillar molding
5. remove the C-pillar molding
6. remove grab handles
7. remove visors, remove plastic visor holder things, just turn them and pull
8. remove sunglasses holder/map lights assembly
9. remove dome light assembly
10. there is a plastic circle on the headliner near the back seat with a slot in it. turn the slot so that it is perpendicular from its original position
11. remove the felt/rubber molding around the sunroof

you should then be able to start pulling the headliner down. it is held on near the back window by a series of clips. you will need to fold the headliner slightly in order to get it out of the car.

make sure not to put a crease in your headliner when you pull it out. fold the front seats down back so that they lay flat and you can pull the liner out of the front door

get a VERY small flat head screwdriver and pry where you see little indentations in the the clear plastic. you should able to pop it out. after you get off the clear plastic lens, there are just screws for the map lights and 2 nuts for the dome light.

After you get the headliner off, what do you do to fix the noise issue?

I've read that you purchase a thin cotton sheet and place it in between the headliner and the roof. This is what has been suggested in the past off this site.

Okay headliner is out. I'm think about using some left over laminate floor insulation. It's like a thin foam. Should I just try to find some sort of thin cotton sheet like mentioned in the post above? Is there a certain area on the headliner that should be covered? Thanks

For future reference, using the laminate floor insulation worked like a charm. My car is damn near completely silent now and it feels more solid going over bumps.
