Catalytic converter stolen what are options?
Someone cut it out. Where is best to buy another one. Will have to add some pipe to as they cut big part of pipe to. Would go band clamp route to put it up. Worked well at my F250. What is that wire that is cut? First picture is Acura, another is band clamp with cat at Ford.

looks like a fuel line that was cut?
go to a muffler shop and ask them to put in an "aftermarket cat" or one that isnt an oem.
sure you can band clamp it...that is if you buy your own cat...but since you're asking....it might just be easier to take it to an exhaust shop, as they will have cats on hand.

At page 241 of manual say it is secondary heated oxygen sensor. Sensor and wire are one part. Was at U pull and sow where it disconnect. There at U-pull is not neither sensors or cats, they cut them.

^^^ As I understand down stream is that one at cat. Btw I have photo of part of cat from past year when I did put new flange bolts in. This is what there steal from me, 17 years old. Original cat is 88$ at internet and universal around same. So they will get 40$ for it at most.

People steal cats to extract the precious metals from it, not for use.

Yikes, that sucks op. I got about $360 for my OE cat from a random near by scrap yard when I swapped it out for a high flow one so I can see why people still steal cats from old cars these days.
Probably covered his fix of dope for the week :/

^^^ Well thanks to Honda for putting a lot of precious metals into cat to protect this world. However new cat is at way and it cost only 90$, so minimum of metals in it. Probably nobody will want to stole it.

At my parking lot of 4 small building and 70 cars in parking only 5 cats are stolen. 4 Hondas and one Acura. Actually as is per internet most valuable is Toyota Prius than all sorts of Hondas. Than at close 3th F250. Yeah F250 is my another car and it has 4 cats all together.

I'm moving from here in a few months. But do not want apartments any more. Probably will buy a mobile home. We get enriched here in last 10 years and at top beautiful Mpls city limit is just 1000 feet away. They do not have policing any more.

Fixed. If before was 100% sound seal, now is 95% and it is because didn't use any muffler cement in joints for experiment than only nickel anti seize. Can go over winter so and if would like I can always reinstall band clamps with some seal in.
First I bought original replacement cat because universal would not have oxygen sensor bung I guess. Pipes at new cat are 2" OD. Front of exhaust is 2 5/8 OD and rear is 2 1/8 OD. So bought adapter 2" ID to 2 5/8 OD for front. Adapter need not only for pipe size than because hole is 20" and new cat only 17". At back is so called stepped band clamp. 2" ID to 2 1/8 ID.
Gave it to exhaust shop to weld adapter and cut flanges. See how small spacing is from cat to flange, only welding would work. Said to worker there all together should be 19 5/8. All done for 50$. I painted some part of cat with CGC.
Done
Finally have 2 cars again. It was to much to drive my pickup all times.

Nice!
Just watch out for and don't hit any 'road gators' on the highway.

^^^ Yours number for oxygen sensor helped me order right one.
Bosal said not muffler cement before cat
Quick tip #4:
Fitting paste must not be used on catalytic converters or any part fitted in front of a catalytic converter; this includes down pipes that are fitted separate to the catalytic converter. Any fitting paste that gets into a catalytic converter will contaminate (poison) the monolith and cause it to heat up so severely to the point where meltdown may occur.

Just my , I'd readjust the clocked position of the converter such that the O2 sensor is coming out less than 90 degress from vertical.
May be the angles in the picture but it seems to be hanging down quite a bit..

If you drive up quick and hit one of these by accident you may have issues.

I'd say just install a cow scoop on the front like they have on old trains - should get those road gators right out of the way.

Looks like there is a few reasons, although mine was primarily for those "gators;" if I see an object in the road I think I could drive over rather than swerve to avoid I will take that route. If I had the o2 sensor cable like that, I would be afraid to drive over anything without risking that it would get yanked.
Thankfully, the cat's not welded to the remaining exhaust pipe.

Look at the O2 sensor orientation of the CL-S cat on the video below starting at time 3:45.
Its location looks to be at the horizontal or just a bit above.

I think I installed that cat wrong direction as that shield that is up now should be down and it would yield oxygen sensor slightly be up. However I do not drive at rocks so I can live as is. Should that shield be up or down? However it would yield problem when cut flanges would not have enough pipe downstream at cat to clamp to would have to pay welding of something there to.
Well thinking farther 5 minutes in my life now I think it is actually heat shield, not rock shield so I did installed it properly.

One year latter everything is fine with new cat. No noise and band clamps work, like always they do. Only new cat tends to rust at welds but I'm getting care of it with spraying Cold galvanizing over it 2 times per year.

It is from internet. Do not know where. Just google "acura tl 2003 cat". And than follow directions in #20. Very simple job. Use band clamps. Tape what is gap that exist and - 1/2" for yours cat with adapter(s). It should be it. Now is 130$, still ok.

I feel your pain OP. Mine was stolen a couple of months ago. They took most of underneath. Thankfully I had full coverage insurance. It took 6 weeks in the shop and they had to put a straight pipe. Sucked balls.
