Battery Terminal Corrosion
For the past few months, I have encountered a lot of corrosion on the battery terminals. I will clean the corrosion off and retighten the positive but after a little while it's caked with corrosion again. The positive side seems to display the most but the negative side, the clamp is almost bottomed out. I have had issues with the vehicle not starting and no electrical power at all until I remove the positive terminal and retighten. The battery always tests good and was replaced 18 months ago. I plan on replacing the terminals soon but looking at the negative side I noticed its not a bolt on. Has anyone had issues with the terminals and if so, did you replace the negative side with a universal clamp? Any help much appreciated!

Do yourself a favor:
sounds like maybe the negative was already replaced? there should be one 10mm bolt per terminal.

Both cables are bolt ons. You should remove, inspect, and clean the cables thoroughly with a mild mixture of baking soda/water solution or replace them. Clean the contact points also while you are at it.
It's also possible that the alternator is over charging the battery and causing the excess corrosion. You should should get the alternator inspected.
To prevent battery corrosion build up try using some of those red/green anti battery corrosion washers that are available at all auto parts stores.

If I understand you correctly, when you say "bolt on" are you are referring to how the cable end is connected to the wire? If so, both factory connectors are crimped to the cable vs. a set screw setup or clamping style.

No, I'm not referring to the crimped on connectors. I'm referring to how the cable assemblies are bolt to the car chassis or starter.

I guess I should of been more descriptive. I meant that the negative side is clamped on one side and the other side is tighten down to the battery with a 10mm. Should I replace the negative with one similar to the positive terminal?

Either way, replace the one that is causing problems(or both).
Remove the old connector from the wire, clean everything with baking soda/water mixture. Dry everything down and hit the now bare end of the cable and battery terminal
with a wire brush to remove any remaining soda and oxidation. Install the new connector to the wire and secure to the battery. Spray with battery terminal protector. Done
Either way, replace the one that is causing problems(or both).

I have on my TL for the last two years, no corrosion and it's still maintaining 100% life.

Bringing back this thread from the dead. Due to some family issues I've had to put this off. After removing the old replacement terminal on the positive side, I noticed the previous owner just cut the clamp off, left the crimped part to the wire on, and slipped the new terminal over the left over crimped brass. I've included a picture this time... I could replace it like the old one, but I wanted to get you guys recommendations. The original negative clamp is still on but needs to be replaced as the clamp bottoms out once tightened.

Looks like the cable end itself has some corrosion in it. Hard to see though since your rag is covering it a bit.
If you have enough slack, you could peel back a bit of insulation and cut the old crimp off to expose some clean wire.
There are also styles of terminals that you insert the clean end into a boss and clamp on the wire with a set screw.
Also check the other ends of each cabe where the Pos connects to the starter and the Neg connects to the body.
I also use those small felt disks soaked in anticorrosion on the posts under the clamps.

Here are some more pics. I might have just enough slack to cut the crimp off. There is corrosion under the brass crimp which leads me to believe that's why my car wouldnt start every few months. With it being 110 out, I'll wait til the morning. I hope my dukes are strong enough to cut through both lines. Thanks for the input, Saudade.
