Battery and Brake lights on
Hi, I recently replaced the battery and the grounding cable. The Two lights went away for a couple of months and now its back. Could this be the alternator this time? Thanks for the help!

Remove the 4 pin connector from the alternator and turn the key-on-engine-off. Does the battery light turn off? If so, test the voltage on that connector (female side) on the black/yellow wire versus ground. If you get battery voltage 12V then your alternator is dead.
On the brake light, you're not referring to ABS/TCS are you? If not, then check your brake fluid levels, you could be low.

definitely ck the fluid level in master cyl- the Full line is very near the top
If its way down, you probably have worn brake pads to the limits on one end of the car.
OR the slider thing inside brake res cap gets gunked up - its job is to alert you to low fluid level- but if its sticking,
Flip cap over and see if light goes out
CAUTION BRAKE FLUID EATS PAINT be careful and place towel/rags around work area!
USE DOT 4 fluid only!
Has the brake fluid been changed/flushed in the last 2 years? If not its overdue
New fluid makes an amazing difference, if you need brake pads- its time for a flush
Are you a DIY person or we are advising prior to shop visit?
DO NOT go to the dealer or midas or meineke type places!!! we can help you

I went with used OEM one, the donor car had 40K miles! It only costed me $40 shipped to my door. I did not get it confirmed to be the alternator, but since the replacement, I've had no isssue!
