Unhappy Advice about Timing belts

Hey guys

I was getting my servicing done at the dealership and I was reccomended to get the timing belt replaced and gave me a quote for $750 along with their usual and yea also to get the motor mounts changed, that they quoted $450

I have 76K right now, and I have 2000TL, what do you guys think about all this? Are there any symptoms to know when its time to replace all this, cause honestly I dont feel anything different yet.

I just dont wanna get robbed by them LOL...

Thanks for your help

It's too early to change the timing belt. Most people change their belts in the 90-100K mile mark.

There's no way to "feel" if your belt is going. However, you can inspect your belt and look for any wear marks or gashes.

Per the manual, you need to change the timing at 105k. Some say get it done sooner because if it does go, your engine goes with it. As for the motor mounts, don't fix them unless they are broke.

Yon can not "inspect"the timing belt..you are 50% through the job just to see the belt..105k is correct on your model...your extended warranty will not cover the timing belt...as for the motor mounts, that sound a little high..

BTW it's every 105k or every 6 years..

Remove the front upper cover (5 bolts) to inspect the belt.

why not? spending the money on a belt replacement when the belt is perfectly fine is a waste of money

Actually, the timing belt IS covered under warranty, if it breaks.
