Transmission faults codes and drivability issue

Yesterday my 05 RL with 47k started hitting through the gears really hard and would flare up on an upshift and act like it does know what gear to put it in. It also locked me out of manual mode and 5th gear. I pulled the fault codes and there was a "P0797 Pressure Control Solenoid "C" Stuck on" code. Two questions....Has anybody ran into this problem? How is Acura on their good will assistance as I'm three weeks out of factory warranty by time? Thanks.

When did you purchase your RL? I'm sure that Acura may bend on this one (since you've not hit 52,500 miles). Maybe ask for some "goodwill"...

I did a search of the site and didn't find a similar code noted. Some dealers will offer goodwill for this situation.

Why wouldn't this be covered under the powertrain warranty..... I don't know much about that warranty but isn't that type of stuff covered? If not, what is covered?

Go to your dealer and also note that the speedo in your car is off, that is too say, 5% off in accordance with a class action settlement with Honda, and they ought to take that into consideration.

Thanks. Just wanted to give an update. Car had gone into limp mode and locked itself out of 5th gear and manual mode. Dealer wasn't able to reproduce problem but it's logged in Acura's service system now. Fluid was dirty and dealer changed and cleared codes. Car working fine now but it's a little troublesome to know it happened and nothings been resolved. Dealer only charged for the tranny service. Does the RL have a longer powertrain warranty than the 5/50k?

I think the longer warranty started with 06, 6 years/70K miles. Remember there is also the odometer class action where your warranty is extended by 5% by mileage.
