Slight oil pump leak

Took my 06 into the dealer for an oil change on Friday..I was told that there's a slight oil pump leak that they will have to keep an eye on from time to time.

I had the water pump, timing belt and other work performed in January 2014.

Should they have seen this issue the during that work....could it have been caused from working there? if not can any body give advice on this job they want $$1300+ for this job when it comes time to fixing it.

P.S. I have 101900 miles on her at this time not other issues.

It's not uncommon on V6 Hondas for the oil pump to leak over time. It's sealed with hondabond just like the oil pan and rear crank seal cover. If I were you, I would add some engine oil dye to the crankcase and take it back and have it inspected with a blacklight. If your power steering pump is leaking or has in the past, it has a tendency to run down the front and side of the block and down the backside of the oil pump and could be confused as a seep from the pump. Considering the time of your timing belt service, it may have been caught then. You would only have had to pay a little more in labor, but it's highly unlikely they could have caused it to leak.
