Removing Door Trim Panels and Trim Clips?

I have read 6 different topics that I found searching the forums asking this similar question and all of them have been no help.

Does anyone know how to remove the trim panels on the front and rear doors? I already broke one clip on the rear door trying to take it off so I ordered the official KTC trim removal tools and they will be coming Friday...until then is there a PDF from the service manual or instructions anyone can provide me with? I have my SecondSkin Damplifier and Luxury Liner also coming Friday that I am determined to get installed?

Does anyone also know where I can buy replacement trim clips for the trim pieces? The service manual keeps saying replace them if they are damaged but the manual doesn't provide me with a damn part number!

My front driver's door inside trim is a little loose. Noticeable when pulling on the inside handle to close the door. Dealer wants a fortune to tighten it up. I'll tackle it someday, perhaps after learning how instead of before !

Haven't done it yet, but I think I have a scan of that section from AllData at home. I'll try to post it tonight.

As for part numbers, you should be able to use http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...All&vinsrch=no

The clips are towards the bottom, and the part numbers depend on the color of the clip. Here are a few:

91560-S6A-003 CLIP, DOOR LINING (ORANGE)
91560-S84-A01
CLIP, DOOR LINING (NATURAL)
91560-S9A-A01
CLIP, DOOR LINING (LIGHT BLUE)

Heavy, someone did do it recently and posted the service manual instructions. I know because we both thanked them.

OP, Ian has you covered on the clips. As for the doors, there are three places with screws for the front, behind the door handle that opens the door, at the top of the handle when the door is open, and the third is just above the map pocket in the center I believe. Once all of these screws are out, you can pull the clips around the outside of the liner. Once released, you cam pull the liner straight up.

I think that would do it, but I will look for those instructions unless Heavy has the time first.

For the rear door, there are screws behind the handle, and one underneath the ashtray.

In the front, the third place is actually behind the LED hole cover.

I am going to go ahead and call complete on step three of the rear door panel removal. There is no rubber mat on any door, and that picture is of the front door.

The third screw on the rear door is underneath the ashtray.

Door Trim Panel Removal?

Now that I have taken the screws off, how do I remove the Door Trim Panel? I know there are clips holding it on the door but how many and what do I have to do?

Popped off the clips and reached under the window.

I popped off the clipped and reached under the window and moved it up and down. It will now go all the way up but won't go all the way down. Good enough for me at this point. I just didn't want packing tape holding my window up.

Window won't go up or down AGAIN

After getting it back in place, I rolled it down and now it won't go up. I can hear the motor buzzing when I Push up and down. What do I need to check now? I'm getting really good at taking the door screws off.

I know there is a window reset procedure for the 3rd Gen TL's....not sure if there's something for the RL that resets the window.....

unless you dont have the window on its track

There is a window reset procedure, but I have never seen it used for anything but te master switch.

Hold the down button until the window is down plus 5 seconds. (If your window won't move, just give it a good 10 seconds.) Then hold the up button until the window is up plus 5 seconds. (Or 10 again.)

My guess is your motor is bad.

The tricky part is the three clips at the top of the panel. Most panels hook onto the top of the door slit where the window comes out of, but this car does not so they added three of those plastic clips to hold the top on and they are a real pita to get to..... I can scan the helms manual if it is needed but it's not easy.....
