New owner with questions

New here &with my first post & question.
Was curious what most are averaging city/highway mpg ?
I'm now the 3rd. owner to a 06 RL with 130K on it & it seems to be consistent 24 mpg & I don't baby it but I'm not hard on the gas pedal either.

Of course the seller claimed the car had been maintained well but one has to doubt it when you find items like the cabin filter totally packed out with dirt.
Air filter was very dirty too & that kinda put me off but at least it had been changed sometime in it's past because it wasn't an OEM filter.
Otherwise the car drives well, has good eye appeal inside & out other than a few paint chips & the headlight plastic is starting to fade.
I did buy a CarFax on it before making the purchase & the service records were pretty good but not entirely complete on preventive maintenance.
The oil changes were current & on time, my biggest fear was the records never reflected a timing belt & water pump kit install although the seller claimed it was performed 15K ago.
I took it upon myself to verify the timing belt & water pump install by calling the private shop he used, they sent me a photo copy of the receipt showing the work was in fact done.
No mention in the CarFax maintenance records that the trans fluid or differential fluids have ever been changed either, or at least while the original owner had it up to 98K & it was being cared for by the local Acura dealer.
I guess it's best to just go ahead & start replacing fluids to make sure it's taken care of ?
The car is a pleasure to drive & it seems that everything works as it should, just hope it continues

So do you really care about a thread regarding MPG? Those exist, and we can merge if you do. Or, we could make this an intro thread for you and your RL and change the title.

Congrats on your purchase. 24 MPG is on the high end of average. 27-28 is possible with 100% highway. 20 is probably THE average. 18 for suburbia, and 14 is possible in the city.

I usually get around 18-20 MPG. About 75% city driving. This is not the car for people who care about MPG.

You can merge it if you like.
As per my post/question ... was just curious of real world mpg average as I've never owned an all wheel drive car before ... not really worried about it.
There's some good reading on this site but the search engine is kinda lame at best.

Thanks for the reply.

I frequently see this statement on the Caddy forums.
There is no such thing as 100% Highway. I have yet to meet anyone who only drives from their home on a Freeway ramp to work at the end of a Freeway ramp.

The only true measure of mileage is the overall average. After all, when I pay my gas card bill every month, I pay for the gas I used the entire month...not just my Freeway miles.

^ Very true .... & everyone's driving habits, environments & road conditions will be different.
Was just curious since this Acura is my first & only AWD car.

I never said it was a reasonable expectation of an overall mileage. I only pointed out the nominal max (30 mpg has been achieved in KB1s). Still, your commute and 99% of everyone else's doesn't exclude the people that drive 50k+ miles per year. There are people who do drive 99% highway.

Furthermore, if someone CANNOT achieve close to 27 with 100% highway, that could point to an issue with their car.

Read my whole post, and you will see I gave the entire range. YMMV.

Okay. I changed the thread title in hopes of not confusing someone coming behind you looking for lots of MPG data. If you prefer a different title, it's not very hard for me to change.
