Goodbye Acura...Goodbye RL

Well, after having owned 5 Acuras including 01 TL, 03 TL Type S, 04 TL, 05 RL, 06 RL I've finally become quite disenfranchized with the Brand and the Car. Needed a little larger back seat to accomodate my 14 year old (5'10 165 lbs) special needs child. Tough getting in the back seat and getting him back out, not to mention he was within arm distance and constantly pulling at my hair and slapping my shoulder.

So, anyway, I took a long hard look at the MDX. Let's face it, pretty nice vehicle, but too costly. Resale on the RL is not very good given the $ 3,500 incentives ect.

I have a 2002 Ford SuperCrew that I have been driving more regularly over the past several weeks and it seems to accomodate our needs much better.

So last Friday, I traded my 06 RL and my 2002 Ford F150 KIng Ranch on a new 2007 Ford F150 SuperCrew. Significantly more room. Will recoup some of my lost equity by taking advantage of the 60 month 0% interest.

Good luck to all you guys and gals. Keep this forum going. You do a great job.

So long...

That is one big honking truck. But from what you describe, that's what you really need. Good luck and don't forget to post a couple of pix.

Good Luck. I must agree I love my 2004 Frod F150 Lariat Supercrew also. I especially enjoy th audio system with the optional subwoofer, which to me sounds better than the Bose system in my 2005 RL. Thought I would enjoy owning a car, but the more I drive my Acura, the more I miss the comfort of my F150.

Ford F-150--yikes! Can you say "global warming"? (Plus you can't see around the @$%&! things.)

I feel guilty enough getting a mere 20-21 mpg in the RL...can't imagine driving a truck, for any reason, ever. To each his own I suppose...not trying to sound elitist, just honest.

VOdoc, read the OP again. The Acura's not meeting mwm's needs; the truck will. Not everyone can get by with a car.

Well, you obviously gave Acura a try. Glad you were able to find a vehicle to meet your needs, which is waht it is all about. 0% for 60 mos is fantastic.
