Fuel / Motor oil additive in the RL?

Alright guys, I would like to hear your opinion on putting fuel / motor oil additive (BG 44k / BG MOA) in to our RL’s? I have been using both products religiously on my Acura TL with pretty good results, so I would like to continue using it on the RL. However with all the advancement with the RL (freaken supercomputer) I don’t want to mess-up the gasoline mixture or the way the engine is running. Any thoughts?

No, No and no need. Honda engines run over 300,000 miles easy if you change oil and filter often.

Honda will tell you NO.

You state that you have been using such products in your TL so what difference have you noticed and what advantage do you think that these products have?

I nomrally add a bottle of both the BG 44k and the MOA during my 10k synthetic oil change. After the next fillup, i do notice a increase in hp (more pep when i push on the gas) and better MPG. I have done this on a 10k interval and my TL now has 130k miles and still running strong. I don't have any doc. proof that all of this is due to
BG products but have notice a lot of Honda/Toyota dealerships using BG products as part of thier routine maintenances.

10k thats to much ! I'm glad your motor seems to be good right now but you should bump it up to 6k. I hope you do mean KM's not miles. I have allways wanted to try that 44 stuff but they don't have it in canada. i think

10k oil changes, wow, waaaay to long, what is the point?
No way Honda ever says to go that long, call Honda about the additive, why ask us, they do the research.

I thought the norm for Mobile 1 synthetic oil / Mobile 1 filter was 7,500 to 10,000?? Heck i heard that Royal Purple claims that with their formulated synticetic oil it is 15k miles interval.

But my question is, will adding BG 44k or other fuel injection cleaner harm my RL?

Royal purple sucks. But anyway mobil is a great choice go by your on board computer and 20-30% left is where i get mine done. The more you change it the better no matter if it is conventional oil or syn. I wouldn't put any thing in your car other than the best gas all the time and once in a while put octane boost in the tank 2 a year thats it honda motors are very clean in side.

I ran my 2003 Acura CL-S for 183k miles on regular Castrol Motor oil and no additives. Never burned a drop of oil.

I had a 2007 VW GTi turbo for one year. I put 32k miles on that one. The VW dealer did use BG MOA oil additive at each oil change with synthetic oil (at 5k miles intervals).

My Acura dealer runs regular Castrol oil in my 2006 RL with no additives (I change the oil every 5k miles).

I do use the BG44K in the RL's fuel tank at random. It did recently cure a hard start issue.

I own a 1979 Cadillac with 42k miles. The car sits for several months at a time without being run. The engine developed a knock a few years ago that took about 20 minutes of driving to silence. I put a can of BG MOA oil additive in the crankcase about 4 years ago and at each oil change on the Cadillac. The knock is permanently gone, even after the car is started after sitting for 3 or 4 months without being run.

What kinda oil does the RL take? Gonna run down AutoZone tmw and pick up a small bottle.

Gotta top off oil before going in for oil change cuz I'm at 5%, but need to buy extended warranty first and I'm over 50k miles...

keep in mind the lawsuit Acura had for fast distance counting.

I think 52k is still good.

Thanks for the input Cadigti! I'm glad at least 1 person with a RL has used it and found it more helpful/harmful.

Afjock: If you mean the oil additive (BG MOA), you nomrally put the bottle in after the new oil change. Also the only place i found that sells the BG product line is Advance Auto Parts (Checkers/Autozone do not).
