Folks w/ 5Zigen Exhausts

How much did you pay for yours?

I just asked 5Zigen and these jokers quoted me $2100 + $600 shipping + customs fees from Japan. I was like...

I thought these were like 1500???

They were $1500 or less.....over six years ago when I bought mine.

Remember: The 2G RL/5G Legend is a low-volume model all over the planet. 5Zigen took the exhaust off its website 2-3 years ago. There aren't many exhausts in the wild. If you are looking for the 5Zigen, your best bet is to find a used one.

I would not buy a new one today. It pains me to say that, because I sure loved my 5Zigen exhaust when I had my RL.

Try KingMotorSports.com. Also, there is a thread here that I made that should have another link as well. Search "Amuse kit" in the RL forum.

Whatever you do, DO NOT give any money whatsoever to VisionaryRacing.com or anyone named Sam.

Never mind. This link only has Amuse and Mugen. http://www.bulletproofautomotive.com...lt.php?make=27

KingMotorSports only sells Mugen too.

Good luck. Post back if you find a set, and remember to stay away from Sam.

You wouldn't buy a new one OVERALL or AT THAT PRICE (of 1500 or above?).

I am considering getting a custom exhaust made which will give me a bit of sound and better look on the back (quite similar to 5Zigen w/o the price).

Were you expecting more performance or..?

I wouldn't buy a new one at the prices you quoted. That's just way too much for a catback exhaust.

As I stated above, I loved the 5Zigen when I had my RL. The sound was just right. I'm sure you saw my YouTube videos featuring the 5Zigen.

Oh right.
I wouldn't either. It's just too much.
I was expecting them to charge a premium over 1500 for me being late to the party. But not 2800. LOL

Yea, I've checked out all the videos and sounds w/ intakes, w/ j-pipes, with no cats, with hi flow cats. I'm addicted

I guess I'll have to go the custom exhaust route.

Crazy amounts for an exhaust that isn't even a catback. Its more of an axle back. Custom seems like a good route from a reputable shop with good quality steel

Where are you located? I'm considering to sell my car. I currently have the 5zigen exhaust and we can negotiate the price to have mine and yours switched.

I won't be parting out unless it's local and we can meet up at a shop.

I know.
I would prefer something I could sell afterwards if I ever changed my mind but.. whatever. I guess this is what the market bears.

This is one way I'll do it.
I've dealt w/ one local shop before, really happy w/ their work and got a quote so that's the way I'll go if I can't find a 5Zigen by April.
