Does your calendar still work in 2022?

Does your calendar still work in 2022?

I drove this evening and my clock was an hour off. So I went to the calendar and the date defaults to May 2002.

I thought the car got time from gps, but is it from some 3g network that got shut down?

Disappointing to have it lose track of the date because I used the calendar for reminders.

Any workarounds?

Same here. I was going to try and set it to 2022 but I’d have to manually go through every month. Maybe I’ll work on that later. I suspect the calendar is finished

I wonder if a new Nav disk would make a difference? Seems like the system settings should include setting the date manually, rather than solely automatic.

Today my car shows Jan 1 2002. Unclear why the calendar would even go back to a date prior to the car's model year!

On my 2010 RL - Yesterday 01/01/2022 in the afternoon top clock was working fine, then later into the evening, the time was one hour ahead and today still is! I can't adjust time manually although I have turned off auto daylight saving and auto time zone. Navigation clock yesterday evening showed 2002 August(don't recall the date) and today it showed 2002 May 19th. About 2 weeks ago, I upgraded Navigation DVD to 2017 from my original 2010, but still issue popped up. This issue has been lingering for many years on different models. For some, the clock may correct itself within a month, but not for others.

One solution is to try to revert back to your old DVD through diagnostic menu. This should correct the time.
And if you have a newer disc, then just update to that one. I am planning to revert from 2017 disc, back to 2010 and then update to 2017.
If my 2017 update was the culprit for the issue, then I will just revert back to 2010 and keep using it.

Drove the car for the first time today since Dec 30, and I see my 2012 RL clock is also an hour off (+1Hr ahead) now in 2022. I am using the nav disc from 2016 or 2017 (can't remember exactly which year as I got the update discs shortly after I bought the car in the fall of 2016). Do we know if the newest nav update discs will correct this?

In the post #4, above yours(don't know if you have read that), I mentioned something about reverting to older Navigation disc. Before you updated to 2017 or so, you probably had an older version in the drive. Put old disc into the drive, then access the diagnostics menu on the screen. This way you can install/download the disc that is in the drive. I am planning to do this tonight by reverting back to 2010 disc.

Just an update: Yesterday I contacted Acura Client Relations via email and got a case #. Today I received a call from a representative who stated that someone from Acura would be calling me in couple of days about this issues.

My 2011 did the same, was fine for a bit on the 1st in the morning, but then an hour fast since.

I've tried many things to get it corrected but no avail. Even the manual changes I try to make in the clock settings are having zero effect.

My Service REP was off yesterday but will check in with him later today.

Kind of sad for this to happen and oddly enough I had to explain to my 18 year old about the Y2K bug hysteria that occurred before he was born.

Hello
I am from germany. I have a 07 Honda Legend (which is pretty the same like the Acura RL) and have the same problem. I think it have to do with the "GPS week roll over". The navi says 2002-05-21, which is a offset of 1024 weeks. I tried to set the date manual in the service menu to 2022-01-04, but that won't work. Then I tried to set it to 2012-01-04. That worked for a while, and the clock was working right. But then the navi "overwrite" the date again, and the clock jumped one hour. In the clock setting I saw it is on summertime ( it thinks it is May). I turned off the "automatic summertime". Clock is working again, but I think I have to set it manually twice a year.

I don't understand why we have this problem now, and not in 2019, when the rollover was. I have the newest DVD from 2018. This was the last. I don't think Honda will make one again for this old cars.
There are also many TL drivers that have this problem.

Bye

Many Honda and Acura cars from this timeframe are having the same problem. Obviously it's a bug in the software. It seems Honda is figuring out their response.

I had a similar issue with my 2000 Honda Odyssey many years ago. Honda blamed Alpine. Alpine blamed Honda. It took a year but eventually a disc came in the mail and that fixed it.

The date in my RL is also 2002 May X(don't remember exactly) I have tried to revert back from 2017 disc to 2010(original disc) to see if it would help, but nothing has changed.

OMG, mine too. My clock is suddenly an hour off when I drove it on Wednesday after being on vacation since 12/25. It also does, it allow me to manually change clock. If anyone hears back from Acura, please post. I also just submitted a case w/Acura via email for this issue.

Mine is a 2005 RL having same issue; calendar year is 2002 and clock is one hour fast. Glad I found this forum as at least now I know there is nothing I can do about it at this time. I guess we will just have to wait. I will submit a help request to Acura so if they have to send out new nav update disks to fix it, I will be on the list.

Yeah, it's a pretty shoddy coding job on their part. I guess we keep on waiting for their answer.

I was able to fix the clock in my RL. It works by disconnecting both battery terminals at exactly 12:40 am/pm local time and reconnecting them at 01:00 am/pm exactly local time. Then immediately turn ignition switch to ACC position. Info on this website.

Soon to be fixed?!?

According to the ServiceNews Article from Acura we should see the fix for this issue very soon (8/17/2022 according to the article).

Feels like it has been forever...
If your solution was to apply electrical tape to the clock display you might [skeptical] be able to remove it soon...

Before daylight savings, time was an hour off on the clock display. From March I believe it shows the correct time on the clock although the calendar is still Jan 2002 and no way to adjust the clock. Hope it gets resolved before we turn back the clock in the fall.

I can’t wait. This has been so dumb. Thank God I don’t have to drive every day since my employer allows us to work from home.

Hopped into the car and started it up at 6:24am, and the clock immediately went to 2:56 (not sure if am or pm). The calendar showed January 1 2003, instead of 2002.

It finally dawned on me to try using the Clock set feature (which previously wouldn't take), and it let me set the clock to correct time.

And it seemed to retain the time when I powered up the car a second time.

Unfortunately, I haven't figured out a way to set the date..... I liked the calendar feature.

Mine (EDM) is also working again. But also without the “Auto Daylight Saving” function. Set manual an offset of one hour.

So that is true that Auto Daylight Saving won't work anymore? I guess we will have to manually change the clock back/forward.

My clock works! It was really annoying to have a beautiful car that wouldn’t let me set the correct time on the clock..

if not working because the date in the calendar is wrong and we can’t change that. Honda really needs to provide a solution to this.

When clock started working again on the 17th, my car showed 2 hours ahead, so I was able to adjust it. Looks like Auto Time zone and Auto Daylight Savings options do nothing at the moment. I would also like Honda to fix it with some sort of an update.

I want to say it was a couple of months ago my clock was showing the correct time, but it was fast by about 6 minutes.

On the 17th, my clock jumped foward roughly 4 hours. I haven't tried manually adjusting the time. I'll have to remember to do that the next time that I get in the car.
