Direct injection engines

Hi everyone
So I was looking online for some engine maintenance tips and I ran into something about carbon buildup problems with certain engines ,the direct injection ones in particular
Now my question is, I have an 07 RL,is that a direct injection engine? It's really hard to find that out for some reason .or what kind of injection system is using
Thank you all

Multi port fuel injection, not direct injection.

Direct injection only became the norm a few years ago.

As the others have said, not direct injected. Engines with direct injection transport and spray the fuel under much higher pressures than the "normal" port fuel injection used on our RLs. This makes them more sensitive to carbon buildup and to clogged injectors.

However, it's a good idea in any fuel-injected car to use Top Tier gas, which has more detergents. And in our case, whether it not it's Top Tier, premium is required (not the same thing – premium is a measurement of octane rather than detergent content). Here's a list of brands that are Top Tier.
