Acura RL Engine "ticking" noise

Hey guys I am new to this forum and new to the Acura brand. I just bought a 2007 Acura RL with Technology Pkg with 145k miles. The RL had a clean well maintained one owner history. The "problem" I am (don't know if it is just me)noticing is an engine "ticking" noise when warmed up and idling and going on hills at low speeds with tachometer registering 2,000 rpm. Since I am new to Acura, I was hoping if someone here can tell me if this "ticking" or "tapping" noise is common on these J35A8 engines? I really hope I am just full of it and the engine sounds normal. Thanks
This is the link where you can here the noise on video: http://youtu.be/N5DM70seHZI

Hard to hear anything on that video, but ticking is usually a sign a of a loose valve or valves.

It's likely the purge solenoid, it's common to Acuras, and it is not an issue. You could replace the part, and it will just come back.

Ouch, it may be a serious issue.

Does anyone else experience the ticking stop when the climate control is turned off? I have had the clicking since I've owned the car. No issues from it but i'm curious if I have a different issue then a purge solenoid.

Does it vary with fan speed? If so, there may be a leaf stuck in the blower.
Is it continuos and dependent on the A/C? It could be the compressor pulley.

Also, try removing the cabin filter. See if there is debris in there.

Unhappy

I'm having this same problem with my 07 RL with 97k miles on it. Once the car is warm and been running for a few minutes it stops. Been told it could need a valve adjustment etc. Purge solenoid is where exactly ? I want to look into having that checked out as well.

Have you done the timing belt replacement? If not, have them check the valve timings when they do. Most likely, it is the purge solenoid and is nothing to worry about. Even if you "fix" it, it will come back.
