As far as the RL project we did base line dynos on a all wheel dyno first But this car didn't like that much and we were a little UN easy trying to push the car so we opted out to take the drive shaft out and run the car on our Dyno Dynamics Dyno which worked out great. As far as the kit. We used a CT Type S TL kit to start with and the only cutting was to some of the plastic in the engine bay. We were very excited that we were able to keep the factory ecu happy in the end witch was one of our biggest concerns. The air fuel ratios were spot on and there was no detonation at all. Our next change in the car will be a couple more pounds of boost and some exhaust work If the gasman can convince his wife that awesome sound of the supercharger is very normal for a older car. By the way if you have any questions please give me a call at the shop Cheers Shane
Big welcome to AZ and a big thank you, Shane. We hope this isn't the last we hear of you.

Based on my own experience in dyno'ing the RL, I agree that RLs don't like AWD dynos. We couldn't figure out why that was....my RL put down only 187 whp before mods! I personally suspect the car's electronics.

So you didn't have to program the ECU at all? Impressive.

Hey ctgasman, get an exhaust! If you want quiet with additional power, try the Fujitsubo...or if you want medium loud try the 5Zigen which I had. Either way, that will add a little power.

As the car was dynod in FWD mode only then the 35% drivetrain loss no longer applies. As it put down 227whp stock, this would equate to a 24.5% drive train loss. With this in mind , 272whp would equate to 360hp which makes more sense vs. 418 given the low boost. So with the car making 360hp and with everything hooked up the car should be putting around 234hp to the ground with the standard 35% drivetrain loss of the AWD system.
Definitely need some more boost. Still impressive and looking forward to some nicer pics.

Run out of mods? You can now supercharge it! Now get out there and do it. The world needs more blown RLs on the street as those Camrys and Accords have stepped up the game. I know, my RL got it's arse handed to it by a V6 Camry not long ago on the freeway.

Yikes, what are those V6 Camrys coming with for power these days? I can't keep up in the engine world anymore, it seems the manufacturers are tweaking the engines every 3 years.

since some of us have the UR underdrive pulley which has a slightly smaller diameter i wonder what difference would it be to run that pulley? i have seen the upgraded boost pulley from comptech so we gotta see how much we can push out safely out of the RL with the supercharger

hmmm im thinking if that air filter is custom fitted to route along where the cold air would go it would put out some more power and definitely sound much better.

You will not pass the visual unless comptech has a CARB exemption sticker. They do for the TL but it wont apply to the RL even tho they are nearly the same engine wise.

I didn't think of that. In Ohio, as long as your tailpipe emissions are OK, and they would be here, there are no worries. There's no visual inspection I've ever had to submit to.

You are very lucky... CA has some crazy strict rules. Even back when I had my turbo civic it would easily pass the sniffer but got an automatic fail cause of the visual. It didn’t even have a check engine light or anything and was very well tuned. They don't care here and if it’s not stock it doesn’t pass unless it’s CARB exempt. If it wasn’t for my job I would move out of this place in a heartbeat, then I could have some real fun LOL!

the weight of AWD is still there. And then putting so much hp to the front wheels of a car which is not intended to do that might be the mother of torque steer.

Was wondering when someone would come out with a power adder for the RL. Maybe this will motivate a company to come out with a kit. I'd love to see a turbo on one.

I'd like to know the cost as well, and you can bet your sweet ass that would void your entire engine/drivetrain/exhaust warranty. You could argue components like suspension, brakes, etc. were untouched by the addition of a s/c, but Acura might fight you for that too.

as previously mentioned, the cost of all the upgrades was around 10k including a-spec, brake pads and rotors.
