Need help to copy songs to HDD?

Hi guys,

I am planning to copy some songs from my computer to the HDD. I read the user manual and understand this can only be done through CD.

Does anyone know whether I can use DVD RW to copy songs over to the HDD?

Most of my songs are in the mp3 format and which format should I convert to before I can ttransfer to the HDD?

Thanks,

yojcboy

Some have said it doesn't work but for me, I have had no problem uploading MP3 that were copied on a disc and then into the HDD. That being said, its a pain as the naming of teh songs don't always work and instead of having a CD by artists, it sort puts them all over the place.

For me, I gave up and just use a USB stick (8 gig) and have about 1400 songs on it and just use the "shuffle" mode. The USB stick takes no space and is just as convenient.

My understanding is that only a music CD can be copied to the HDD. (Weather seems to be an exception.) The easiest way is to just play the CD. It automatically copies to the HDD. If you have mp3 files or better m4a files, copy them to a USB and plug the USB into the port. They will show up when you press the HDD/Aux audio button. I don't know what the format is on a music CD. But the CD must be a music CD, not just music files (such as mp3) copied to a CD.

Good luck, Jim

I've used iTunes to burn the mp3 files onto an audio CD (cd-r). If you use iTunes, be careful of the playlist naming though as it will use this for the album name on the HDD.

Hi weather,

Did you use CD or dvd for the disc?

Has anyone tried to delete tracks from copied commercial CD's? We would like to tailor our HD with only the music that we are interested in. Thank you.

You should just have this music on your i-phone and as long as you plug it in to the usb you have the songs labelled, as long as they are labelled on the i-phone.

I have all my cds on the hard drive, but it is a major pain as you cannot even take these off the hardrive and provide them to your new hardrive.
