2016 RDX Tech - reliable vehicle?

New guy here, looking to get my 3rd Acura. Had a 97 3.2TL, currently have an 08 TSX that I'm giving to my son. Found a nice deal on a 2016 RDX. Are there any well known issues with these vehicles? Common problems? Kinda splurging a little with this purchase and don't want a bad cas of buyers remorse. I appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

Most here say they are very reliable. I have a 16 Advance which was purchased new. I have had a myriad of issues with it and am concerned about the transmission over the long haul as it has very rough, irregular shifting in my experience. Acura has issued a TSB about the transmission and recommends 30k fluid changes(unusual with today's cars which typically have lifetime or 100k change intervals) which indicates to me they are aware the transmission has issues and want to keep them working until they are out of the warranty period. This would be the main concern I have over time. I currently have 46k miles on mine. Brakes are also a weak area(lots of issues with speaks and noisy rotors which are replaced under TSB). Other than that, just annoying issues with the infotainment system and other electronic quibbles.

I suggest you take a long test drive and see what you think before buying. Also, make sure to get all TSB's taken care of if you do buy.

My 2014 Tech with 70,000 miles on it has been flawless. My 2017 Elite has 40,000 miles and also flawless.

I bought a 2016 Advance 2 years ago. Have just over 28,000 miles on it. Had some early teething issues with the rain sensing wipers and lane assist that were resolved. Mechanically it's been great.

I couldn't find the TSB that Chickdr mentioned, but I do agree that the transmission seems a bit rough. I don't feel it so much on the upshift; rather, it feels like the car is aggressively downshifting at lower city speed when I step off the gas. It feels like it's got more to do with shift programming and the fact that the car "only" has 6 gears (compared to the new 8- 9- and 10-speed ones, which have their own issues). I'm not worried about it at this point as this 6-speed auto seems to be an older, ubiquitous honda transmission that's hopefully had its kinks ironed out. I could be wrong, of course.

Other than that, I had the brakes replaced by the dealer as per the TSB when it had less than 2k miles on it and the noise is mostly gone (once in a while, at a stop light, when the car is cold, I might hear a bit of the noisy rotor, but nothing big and it's acceptable to me).

I bought my 16 AWD Advanced new 2 years ago and right now I have 32k miles on it. No issues other than the ones mentioned above. The car has been great, and on long interstate trips with the family it feels poised and safe. No buyer's remorse whatsoever, other than wishing the 16 had SH-AWD and android auto, but then I would have had to give up the V6 and port injection and, instead, worry about long-term turbo issues and direct injection foul-ups further down the road.
