Timing belt specials at dealerships and nondealers?

Anyone ever spot a timing belt labor and parts special/coupon from the dealers?
Approaching 105K for the tbelt and water pump.
1. San Diego
2. OC/LA SoCal
3. Anyone anywhere just to compare.
4. Great non dealer mechs, lets hear the prices.
Specify if timing belt and water pump.

Ohio Price

I just got mine done, and the dealership wanted $700. I called a shop that I know a lot of my family friends go to, and they quoted me $500, and it ended up being $480. Now does anyone know about the radiator flush and Tranny flush? I haven't checked my fluids for awhile, but with winter coming soon I'll be wanting to do these.

A few dealers here have online coupons for it. But they really are not good anyway. Free timing belt, but you pay for labor & any other parts.
A waste since the timing belt is cheap online.

In a similar vein - anyone recently get the whole 105k service done and how much did it cost? I'm at 105 and i need to bring my car in. I plan on getting everything recommended because it will be the first time I have had the car serviced since I bought it and I want to be sure it is all up to date.

Just for shits n giggles I called my dealership for a quote. They wanted $1700 for everything...but hey, that included new pulleys and fluids and whatnot . Needless to say, I did it myself (cost about $450 in parts).

Timing belt, P/S and alternator belts, auto tensioner, tensioner pulley, idler pulley, t-stat, water pump, spark plugs, cam seals, front crank seal, oil and filter, trans fluid, coolant, prolly a few other things I'm missing. Bought most of the parts from oemacuraparts.com, but still that shit ads up.

yeah i mean have you ever looked at the list in even the service section of owner link? They go through and either check or replace pretty much everything. Not looking forward to it. It'd be nice to save $$ on labor but I don't wanna screw anything up for such an important service.

I got a coupon for "105k Service due soon" awhile ago, I don't remember what the "deal" was, but it wasn't a deal at all so I threw it away. Why get charged more when you can buy the parts separately and get another mechanic to install them for less than at least $80 an hour?

Got Tys address, gracias!
Talked to Ty. Will do at 105K or maybe sooner, 100 right now.

Does anyone have that link? Along with a discussion of what you feel
1. Must be done
2. Nice to have additionally done, but not absolute neccessary.
3. What you do at 105K after your grandmother leaves you 2 million. Luxuery 105K service items.

I have a 2001 Acura CL with 125k on it, haven't change the timing belt or water pump yet. Is it easy to do by yourself? Any kind of special tools that is required for the job?

my dealer quoted $1200 + tax.
That includes:
- water pump
- tensioner
- belt
- accessory belts
- coolant

I am buying all of these OEM parts online for around $250, and going to have my mechanic do it... the whole thing should be 600-700. screw dealer!

speaking of Honda dealership, just for comparing, I called them.
They said they will do exactly the same job for $900. I compared list of items, its identical!
so 900 vs 1200, is $300 savings just by going with Honda dealer. And if you go with some local mechanic, u get another $300 savings

we need a sub forum on Azine for recommended and to-avoid shops by state/region for larger states. I am surprised this hasn't happened yet I think it would be very valuable.
