any cl owners in the bay area should start sleeping with one eye open.

 

It only seems to be the Bay area CL's. Maybe it's because I've been out of the Honda scene for prob 7-8 years but no other car forum that I have been apart of has as many stolen cars. Sorry for your stolen car bro.

Glad I don't live in the Bay area anymore. I lived in Alameda from 95-97.

Can't tell me there's not a car theft ring operating in that area targeting these cars. I'm still amazed the cops won't do anything.
Someone should setup a bate car. The guys getting their cars stolen are likely being cased beforehand. Should watch out for patterns of cars in the areas you go or anything that seems out of place.
There are not a whole lot of CL's out there so there's a good chance they may have a DMV database with all the Cl owners in the area.

 

^+1 Just when I joined, I was reading about other member's car being stolen in the Bay area, even getting it recovered just to be stolen again. Last nice car I had was an Audi and I can't remember once, ever reading about member's cars being stolen. Granted in reading the posts of stolen cars here, it seems pretty damn easy to get away with but IDK why people would target the CL over a lot of other cars on the road.

All the money invested in these CL's, I'd also be putting money into LoJack plan and simple. Esp knowing there's an issue in that area.

damn thats fucked up, i hella liked your car too. Iono, something fishy the other day when I was just parking at home and some hispanic dude in an integ just busted a quick u-turn just to ask me for directions (which he was already going in the right direction) as I was going in the house.

 

car did not get towed. talked to campus security he said he was going to check out the cameras if they even see anything. i was only taking a test for like 30-40 mins too. straight bullshit

our car are EASY compared to the newer one nowadays guys... crooks have had 9 years to figure our cars out unfortunately that's probably 6-7 years too long

 

When I had my car, I parked in some of the ghetto-est areas and it was never touched...I agree with fuzzy...sounds like a theft ring.

 

1. someone has access to honda software to disable immobilizer
2. tow truck
3. stolen keys
4. someone knew how to bypass the system

 

it's becuase of the older ones that are basically accord coupes and do not have immobilizer until 1998

 

its easy to steal our cars. read on
only way to prevent them from starting the car is to get that system that was mention in the other thread that cuts power to the most critical parts of the car so even if u swap the ecu u still cant start it

 

the thieves can be on azine also so look out and find a secure garage ... good luck with finding the car

I've been thinking that since I've seen the other stolen acura's people been posting.
That the people could be members here also.
One of the bay area guys should try to get some kind of stolen car report for the area,and actually see how many are from azine.
It would be pretty F@#$ed up if all on the list were members here.......
