Starting to use Mobil1 Syn, anything needed to do before starting?

Getting to ready to do an oil change and I want to start using Mobil 1 Syn. Do I need to do anything else before hand, i.e. flush...etc. Or just pour the new stuff in after draining?

Thanks
RaptorCLS

dont use fram, they use paper based backing for the filter medium, which has a tendency to break apart during stressful situations, use stp, bosch or mobil 1, they all use synthetic medium...

I would use Purolator PureOne PL 14459 instead of the Fram 2X, as the Purolator has a better filtering media, better oil flow and is better made.

You should change your blinker fluid prior to going to synthetic. YMMV

So, is it safe to go fully synthetic when the manufacturer reccomends 5w-20 and Mobil1 doesnt make that weight? i know for accords u can use either weight, but acura for the cls specifically states 5w-20....Also, can u use honda filters with synthetic? or do u need mobil 1??

here's the latest page

Honda filters are CRAP or better yet,, yes they are good for 3k miles,,

fun reading here

http://www.ntpog.org/reviews/filters/filters.shtml

How can you trust a filter that's made three diff ways dependent on the country of origin,, and no the USA filter is not the best,, if you want a good low cost filter use a STP,, I stand by science and a good tear down audit,,, not a high school grad (maybe) working as a mechanic or salesman. If your on this board and say something is the best,,, prove it... using science,,

No need for any special oil filter if you are using Synthetic. I starting using 5-30 Mobil 1 in my car in the fall when I first changed my oil (at 5,000 miles) and now I change my oil every 5000 miles. FYI - Costco Wholesale sells Mobil 1 for like $22 for 6, and only 5 quarts are need for an oil change.
