paint cracking or peeling in the trunk - rear panel!

When I went to collect my CL last sept, it had a few paint blobs defects on the left rear panel. Montclair Acura sublet it to Clairmont to repaint the whole rear panel.

I discovered today that the repainted rear panel had a paint chip-like hole and on closer look, it was more like th paint had shrunk or peel off.

Anyone (esp. Wayne/Jen??) knows if I can get Montclair A to repair the poor quality paint job under warranty?

The place that painted it should cover it!

If I remember it correctly, langjae said that clairmont is a subsidiary of Montclair Acura.

I have to call up Montclair A tomorrow but the service personnel there sucks! I know I am going to hear some major BS from them...
wished I had purchased my car from Park Ave now!

my side moldings are those from honda coupe. It fits pretty good and the color matches our CL's color.

I think that I can't see the BSM if I stand more 1/2 feet away.

Anyway, I rather have some protection on the door than a smooth, nice design.

Do a search on it. Some pics were posted by Kavetrax

Went to Montclair Acura today and they are going to repair the peeled paint.

They were going to make an appointment for me next week but I am going away for a month or so, thus I got a written note to say that they will repair it when I come in for the next service appt.

I saw the new blue CL! That color is PHAT! If I had that choice last Sept, I would have jumped at it! It is nothing like the original dark blue CL-P. Perhaps the fact that the Aegan blue car was in the sun helped with the bright blue!

never accept a car that has been repainted at the first place. No body shop can reproduce the paint quality of that of the factory. if you are not satisfied with the paint bolbs on delivery, say ask them for a new one, rather than allowing them to fix it. Your factory paint has about 36 layers, there is no way the body shop will put on 36 layers for you. Repainted surface are very susceptable to environmental damages and stone chips.

thanks for the advice, clint...

too bad I did not know last year.
I did not see the paint blobs (more like darker paint etched in the paint) until I was about to collect the car and only when it was sitting in the sun.

Thanks anyway.
