a multimillion dollar company to do the things which mitsubishi did is just crazy. I really thought this company, over time, could become one of the big three... replacing nissan.
but they had to go fuk it up for themselves Oh well... as long as there is toyota and honda, i wouldve never bought a mitshu anyway

I owned a 96' Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX and the only problems I had were the ones I caused. I would buy another Mitsubishi.
The difference IMO between Mitsubishi and Honda / Toyota / Nissan is that they were caught.

Wow, I'm really not too surprised about this ... I've owned 2 Mitsubishis before I got my TL-S and I had nothing but problems with the previous 2 Mitsubishis. My '92 Eclipse went through 2 transmissions (which is kindof ironic that I now own a TL-S, but anyways) ... and had a bunch of other mechanical problems. Overall I was not pleased with the quality of either of the Mitsubishis that I owned and I ended up moving to Honda/Acura. Hopefully this TL-S will prove to be more reliable then the Mitsubishis have been ... (*crosses fingers and hopes tranny will last*)

Also, some of u guys may not know this, but mitsubishi also had a HUGE sexual harrasment lawsuit that they lost and this lawsuit, if i rmbr correctly, started this huge windfall....
The one thing abt Mitsu that stand out the most In my mind was that back in 99, when the new Galant came out, someone bought a fully-loaded top of the line Galant (25k+) and their tranny went out the VERY NEXT DAY! The poor guy had to take his car into service the next morning, only to find this out and then had to wait a 29 days for a new tranny, since it was a brand new car and parts were hard to come by

That article also makes one consider how all auto-makes handle complaints. It has to be assumed that all manufacturers shelf some of the complaints. The one’s with deeper pockets can do this more efficiently and not be caught...

I agree, my wife's '96 GS-T was problem free except for minor issues like a broken cup-holder lid (done by my wife). Mechanically it was fine and enjoyable.
