Light in glovebox stays on

At night when my glovebox is closed I can see light coming throgh the opening. SHould the light turn off when the glovebox is closed? Is there a switch to control this? Where is it located?

I wonder if that is the way to get it to turn off, let the bulb die?

I think its supposed to work like the light in your refrigerator. If you don't go inside the glove box when you close it, how can you be really sure its the light from the glovebox? Maybe you can put a web cam in your glovebox? Let us know when the test occurs and we can watch it live over the internet.

What is a upgraded cup holder? What purpose does it serve?

it's connected to the headlights like the vanity mirror, they only go on when the headlights or corner lights are on.

i found out about this when i was tyring to find something in the car at night when it was in running but i wasn't driving yet (so no lights on). i open up the glove box and it's dark, and i'm thinking to myself, my freakin $16k civic had a light in the glove box!

but then i recalled that i remember seeing light in the glovebox one time. i then recall that the vanity mirrors only light up when the headlights are on, so i try on the lights and the glove box light goes on.

My mom's 90 Accord has the same problem. It's true that the light in the glovebox only comes on if you have the parking lights on. But only if you open the glovebox. If the glovebox is close then the light should be off.
With my mom's car, the damn light in the glovebox is always on. It's because the lid needs to be closed tight for the light to go off. My mom has a lot of shit in the glovebox which is preventing the glovebox from closing completely, therefore the light always being on.

Mine is always on too and the box is pretty much empty. The cover just wont put enough pressure on the switch to turn off the light when you close the glove box.
