Are Giovanna Rims any good?

What are some opinions on this company? I like some of their styles....I may look for some new wheels when spring comes along. How is the quality of these wheels? Thanks

I have the Giovanna Corisca's. 18x7.5. I like them. They are kinda heavy compared to our stock rims. I bent one allready. But i hit it hard, so i'd expect it to bed in a situation like i was in. Ill post pics as soon as i scan them

If i would get new rims and go with Giovanna again, i would probably get the Giovanna Rio's. I think they would look much better on our cars. They are thicker, i think they would look better rolling too...

from what i've heard... giovanna rims aren't that great. they're heavy and they're weak... so i would stay away from them... if you like the styles... i'm sure you can get the same style wheel that they ripped off from... giovanna is just like katana, etc

i really dont meen to throw up flames here, but chris, your RH Evo's arent something very original. But some others are similar to the gio's. But your right, they are heavy, if i had the choice again i would probably go with some VOLK, or some light along that line.

Thanks, but I don’t know if this thread warranted a BUMP anyway.
Just another squabble between members like you see here every day.

I just visited a local speed shop today and they ranked the Giovanna’s just one or two levels below the coveted Lowenhart brand, which sells for like 1000 bucks a wheel.

And this is a store that regularly has Ferrari’s, NSX’s, Vipers and other such cars parked out front.

Giovannas are knockoff wheels... I don't think they have any original styles. If that doesn't bother you, so be it, it's your call. I don't think they're any weaker than most wheels.

Giovanna wheels are the well done work of a glorious marketing company.

They have done well on their marketing... They are like Niche.

A lot of marketing... on expensive cars so they are trying to get market share on luxury cars and then people want them.

So the wheel may look good and have interesting designs but functionally are not a perfect wheel.

Niche wheels are infamous for being heavy and nearly impossible to balance... so you have will poor ride quality at high speeds.

Not sure about Giovanna wheels but seems like some really well dressed business-people at SEMA in the past years that I have seen their booth. So I would just assume they are imported wheels that just look really good, no real engineering behind them.

Bobowah is right!!!

My friend owns a couple of wheels shops and he is the biggest distributor of Giovanna wheels in the Bay Area.

He told me that Giovanna wheels is owned by an Armenian guy who hires designers to design his wheels for him (much like Niche, that's why they are priced so high) and he has them made in Taiwan I believe for dirt cheap and markets them the right way with nice cars and with Rappers and Athletes (Supposedly the wheel "Attack" is a custom wheel made for Shaq! It's 23"!!!) so everybody sees them on TV and in car magazines.

He said that he could get me any wheel on the market and that he could get me the Giovanna's cheaper than anyone else but he wouldn't sell them to me because they are cheap ass quality wheels. He said as a friend he wouldn't sell them to me because I would be unhappy with them and that they are heavy.

The only wheel that I really like that Giovanna makes is the Barletta. I love that wheel but it is tooooo heavy for my car and it would also stick out. You have to see it on a car to really appreciate it's design.

Sorry, I rarely check this forum.

The Giovanna Corsica is a knockoff of a JDM wheel called the AME ModelArt Excellent.

If you look hard enough, you'll find that almost all of Giovanna's styles are knockoffs or rebadged from another company.
