dead battery/duralast

My Acura 100 month limited warranty battery died out of nowhere after 6 years. So I got Duralast Gold battery, 750 CCA. Anyone else had Duralast?

Yea I'm rocking it right now. Mine gave out in just one year. I just keep getting replacements for free though.

The price of the Duralast batteries are nearing the price of the OEM ones. As the price rises, I have to pay the difference every time I get a new one.

With four years about normal, you did good I think. These days they work perfect one day, the next, dead.

Temperature matters too. In NJ, you'd expect your battery to last.

Here in AZ, it doesn't really matter what battery you get. It WILL die before warranty ends. So batteries are essentially free with a one time payment. Might as well get the best one then, right?

Acura OEM batteries are nothing special, not bad, but do not stand out. You just end up paying more, and warranty is little inconvenient because you need to be at the dealer and service hours are not as good as autozone or pepboys. My battery went on Sunday, there is no way I would wait Monday to pick it up. Autozone is open 8-9pm pretty much every day of the week. Duralast gold has 3 years free replacement, and then its prorated up to 8 years. I think its a good idea to change battery every 5 years regardless to avoid inconvenience. They sometimes die with no prior warning signs or dashboard lights.

My wife's RDX brand new Acura battery was dead 2 years later. I guess its a luck of a draw.
