Hey everyone so its -15F here in Minnesota and its only going to get colder. I am wondering where on the block the plug is for the block heater and if it hard to get to? car is not like this cold of starts in the morning I had one on my old car 2000 ford contour and it worked great in temps like these. let me know guy thanks

I think it replaces the coolant drain plug. info is hard to find on this.

I am having a tough time too just trying to find out where its located on the block

Do they still offer those generic oil pan heaters? They're flat and you attach them to the underside of the pan, so a bit less invasive than a freeze plug heater.

08T44-S5B-100 generic honda block heater. follow the instructions for the TL. canadian cars already have one installed. was on my j32a2 and now j35a3

if you're worried about it cranking get a battery warmer. if you want it to start slightly easier use a block heater.. otherwise an oil pan heater is best for the engine since it's heating the oil and not just the coolant.

I am not sure if they have those for the cl ill have to check. I did find the block heater from advance auto parts its about 35$ and have to special order it not too bad

main reason is just so it starts easier I found block heater works pretty well In my previous car since its about to drop to -23f here this weekend I wanna have her plugged in

I've had my CL-S6 in Minnesota for 6+ years and haven't had issues with starting even when it's crazy cold. Worst was leaving it at the airport for a week and coming back to it after it sat outside in -20º a couple years back. Started right up but the power steering was frozen. Even after idling for over 30 minutes it was frozen. Drove home having to strong-arm the steering but after it sat in the garage overnight it was fine again.

The engine block heater for the CL is 08T44-ST7-200 but it's been discontinued.

like the fluid was frozen? damn that can't be good for your PS system Was it really old or something? It's also hygroscopic like brake fluid so maybe just needs a new flush.

Fluid wasn't old and everything checked out fine. Shop said it's common when left outside for a few days in the -20º continuously. It may have hit those temps here on Sunday but only for a couple hours. Not day after day like it did a couple years ago which is what froze things up.

mine started right up Sunday morning but it was not happy. I ordered one should be here soon then going to take it to a shop to install
