Anyone has Steeing wheel misalignment?

I noticed a bit of drift to the left and ther steering wheel feels the tendcy to be drift counter clockwise some 1 degree.

The car drives okay. But this thing is bugging me a bit. I am not sure if it is the tire pressure, suspension, wheel alignment or steering wheel problem?

Just I need to have some idea before, I will take it to the dealer next Monday.

If the tire pressures are all equal or near equal and you did not damage your suspension in any obvious way, then you definitely need an alignment.

My ride's doing the EXACT SAME THING! Was your car involved in an accident?

I have to still check my tire pressure's. Have not added air to them in over 5 months!!!(car was sitting)

Yep, I had minor accident, couple weeks ago I had an oversteeer, I tried to correct, however I ended hitting the curb from front, bending the towing hook and bending the left front 18" rim from inside. I put back the stock rims and for 2 weeks everything seemed Okay. But now I noticed the drift.

Now, as I have bent a rim I was sure I needed an alignment. Hopefull everything will be corrected in my approaching 15,000 miles service.

Yeah, because of the fact that most modern day alignment racks are totally computerized. Any idiot can get your car into proper alignment without any problems.

Just make sure you get the print out that shows all of your specs, before and after the aligment.

I feel ya NNH. I was told, by tire kingdom guy, that on our cars, Caster is set by factory and cannot be adjusted. Anyone know anything about this???? Toe and camber, no problem, but caster????

Jayru,

According to HELMS service manual:

Caster Adjustment:
==================
Page 18-6: Caster can be adjusted by increasing/decreasing the number of adjusting shims on the radius rod. A Maximum of 2 shims, for 1 degree and 10 seconds can be done.

Camber Adjustment:
==================
Page: 18-6: Can not be done. Check for bent or damaged suspension. [This is why you buy a Camber Adjustment Kit from Inglas]

Front/Rear Toe Adjustment:
==========================

page: 18-7: Can be done, by turning the tie-rods in front and turning the adjusting nut for the rear wheels. [I believe my "crooked" steering wheel is a result of a positive Toe (Toe-out) on the left Front wheel and maybe a negative Toe (Toe-in) on the front right wheel.] Also the max toe-in is: 0 +2mm -2mm only.

Turning Angle Inspection:
=========================

Page 18-8: Can not be done. Check for bent or damaged suspension.

Finally, I hope my CLS misalignment can be put to rest, tommorrow's early morning.
