it just feels a little too rough for me. it makes the car lose it's comfort. however, it is a good mod if you want to go to the track. just not an everyday mod imo.

Do you have enough rubber bushings in yours or is it just washers and nuts? I have one on each side of mine which I believe helps dampen some of the vibration.

yea i got lots o bushings on there. i've tried different setups but i the end it's not stock and really not worth it for me to compromise the car as a daily driver.

i did both and left a lot of posts a couple pages back. i like the ride better with both of them in. My front one came loose a little when it was by itself because there wasn't another one to counter it on the other side. I dont have any issues with both in. They will reduce wheelhop drastically and the ride is not bad at all. If you've ever had a lowered civic in your life then it will still feel like a luxury car IMO.

Correct, wheels/tires, suspension still play a big role in it.

would anybody be willing to get measurements of the OE bracket for front and back for the dampers. I wanna do this for my swap, but you cant buy the OE brackets by themselves, you have to buy the OE damper and i guess it doesnt even come with the lower bracket.

So if someone would be super kind and get measurements of the brackets that would be great..... and also a pic of where they mount to on the lower side.... i know its a lot, but it would help alot too.

the measurements im asking for are the distances from the bend to the ends of the brackets.... and im assuming its steel, but could you get a thickness....

do you think i could get away with bolting the bottom brackets..... kinda like the engine and tranny mounts bolt down.....

thanks by the way

Yes you can bolt them down (the lower brackets). The sit on the lower subframe. Thats how i did mine. I used some angle iron and the existing threaded holes in the subframe to bolt it to

which existing holes..... case i looked and didnt see any. i cut some L angle today to get the bottom brackets. and for the top i have sme stainless steel strips, that im gonna bend and bolt to the stock location, but thats why i need measurements.....

Hey fsttyms can you take a pic of the threaded holes you used, so i can see if mine has it..... i looked but didnt see any holes.

from what i've read, the rear makes the most difference. everywhere is selling it for $90+shipping...

there's a local store here selling for cheaper... groupbuy?

wow i noticed how i seemed to lose all that great traction i had from both of these so i took the front one out and took it apart. GROSS. i couldnt even recognize anything. I had to clean everything, but it looked like one of the red bushings was starting to deteriorate. I just flipped it around and put everything back together nice and tight, put my TB spacer in, removed my CDD and started banging around again...i still love these dampers!

So what would be the best choice to install first, if I have only one damper. rear or back one?

I assume you mean front or back one...I would do the front first, although it really doesn't matter...but definitly both of them.

this really doesn't do much for wheel hop as compared to the mounts. i've had only the dampers and now i have both.

if i daily'd i would not get them. i don't have the "extreme" vibrations RUF and a few others have but they are evident, even greater with the AC on. if you are interested in a real solid feeling launch and don't mind more vibrations then go for it. my only long term concern is the constant vibrations catching up to a car that is already notorious about strange misc vibrations.

Get the mounts over these. These were around & the mounts were not at the time. Now the mounts are here, there's no need for these.

A 6mt CLS will not have the problems ruff is having. Those seem to be auto problems.
My car is a DD & I'd recommend the mounts. Yeah the ride is a little more rough & vibrations are a bit worse, but I've been in many cars that are WAY worse then this car.

So I've read through this thread twice, and haven't found a answer to my question. Someone else even asked but no answer. I've got them installed per distorted's diagram (thanks btw). There are no threads left underneath the two nuts under the bracket. I held the top nut on the damper and tightened the bolt down. If I try to turn just the bolt without holding anything the damper will just spin freely. Its rotating on the bottom right? I'm guessing this is normal. Everything seems fine, the bolt is fully threaded into the top of the damper. I really just need some conformation on this.
Btw... I bought these used and took them apart and tightened everything down before installing.
Also do you think I can adjust the stiffness with less threading of the bolt?
Thanks.

After going for a drive I don't think I'm going to have to adjust anything. There really isn't any more vibrations than normal. These are great! So my only question now is should the damper be able to spin freely? Thanks

mine still spins some if i use my hand, i wouldn't call it freely though. have you tried turning the bolt fitting that is in the damper to snug it up to the bolt? i'll take a look at mine tomorrow and see if i can help more.

The top bolt is nice and tight, but I can spin the damper with my hand. It seems fine.
Is it me or did these help with off the line torque steer? Feels like it pulls a little straighter now when I let the clutch out hard. Wheelspin has been reduced, but is not completely gone.

Other members with these dampers installed... How are they holding up? How often have you had to tighten them again after installation? Opinions?

Another succesful NRG damper install. However I used one of the old bushing by cutting it into half to create sleeves. This will prevent the lower ball joint from sliding side to side on the lower bolt. Thanks for the info.

Nice idea!

My front one has given me tons of problems. The bushings stripped inside and i had to take it apart and put it back together and i still dont trust it anymore. I am going to do the mounts soon. I would say even buy the front mount first instead of doing these. From what it sounds the 6 speed has bearable vibrations for a DD with the new mount kit. Innovative got them right this time. I was considering just buying the front and side mount and leaving my rear damper on to help.

just a word of advice. went to the dealership today cause i was feeling some vibrations on hard acceleration. just installed my ksports so i thought that was the problem. turns out i have 2 broken motor mounts and my rear damper went mia. i only checked to see if the screws were tight the first few months of having them on but i started to stop after a while. so if you do have these installed make sure to check they are attached well periodically.

ha mine were pulled apart. if you look, NRG and all the other dampers look exactly the same. all seem to be crap but i haven't had them go completely MIA yet. currently mine are out.
