03 CL-s swap 93 civic AEM speedo.
 

To start off my setup.
I have a 1993 civic with a full manual 03 CL Type s swap in it.
I am running a stock built CJs wiring harness to use stock ecu. Everything worked great no issues.
I switched over to AEM 6051 with the Boomslang jumper harness. Everything currently works other than the speedometer. I'm no showing any Vehicle speed in the AEM tuner or on the dash.
any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm not really worried about my cluster I'm just trying to get it to show VSS in the software. I'm not getting any feedback.
I currently have these pins plugged
AEM. Engine side
D9. SG3 sensor ground
D11. Mainshaft speed sensor
D10. Countershaft speed sensor
D12. Has nothing in it.

PFI speed on youtube showed how to get around this issue, I think...lemme find it for you

I've watched that video a million times already... haha
they never really specify where the D9 pin goes on the engine and so forth.
I've tried everything but still no VSS on the Software. Aem isnt seein any of it

I'm not sure if any of this will help you; so I'm just throwing it out there for you to consider. :shrug:

I'm looking at the Boomslang AEM 6051 2001-2003 Acura CL Manual Transmission schematic (pinout; or whatever it's called :) ) they (Boomslang) provide when one purchases their harness to connect the AEM 6051 to the CLS6 wiring harness.

This is what it states for the items you have listed above:

6051; Function; CL
D9 SG3 E7
D11 Mainshaft Speed B16
D10 -
D12 Clutch Switch E17

For the Counter shaft Speed it has
6051; Function; CL
C29 Countershaft speed B7

I can't see anything that specifically says 'speedometer'; however, it may be here labeled as some other 'function'. :dunno:

There is a 'VSS Out' on the schematic:
6051; Function; CL
A9 VSS Out E26

Maybe that's your Speedo?? :dunno:

is there any way I can get you to send me the pinouts to the boomslang harness?

I don't have a file or working scanner, just a hard copy, at the moment; however, the guy above just received his and he left pictures. Maybe it will help?

currently I have D10 going to B7 and nothing in C29. Hopefully I swap that and she works.

I found a few other things wrong compared to the diagram.
C8 going to A11(should be A12)according to diagram...
C20 going to E11(should be A11)
C29 has nothing. (Should be B7)

That should clear up the problem for the speedo. Essentially, the AEM should provide sensor ground to D12, but it doesn't do that for whatever reason. D9 is a close by sensor ground, so you can splice into that. This will provide D12 with sensor ground and allow the speed sensor to work.
