Yea, after the last meet and seeing TL-S next to a bunch of base 3gs, I wanted to stand out a lot more than it currently does. I like the chrome bars in the grille right now, but I could live without them. How much does it end up lowering the car body?

I believe the kit takes it down about 3/4" to 1".

A-Spec most def. It looks badass all around. Especially the front.
Our cars are too bubbly in the front. It adds definition and highlights your fog lights.

A-Spec kit was one of my first mods that I got. If I were you, I would do A-Spec and lower her a tad. Just remember wheel gap is like pussy, the less fingers you can slide in the better off you are.

Amen! I couldn't agree more with the "bubbly" comment. I couldn't think of the words to say so I just said makes the body flow better.

When you gonna add me to the Illest Crew BTW?

Not a very good pic, plus it is a little thin on the paint (didn't order quite enough the first time )

I will have to snap a new one after I add more paint, looks really good with my new gunmetal CAI.

LOL will do! So, next question is XLR8 Quad Exhaust or A-Spec Kit first?

I would snowboard, but I tend to end up on my ass more than anything else

A-Spec without a doubt.
XLR8 and ATLP has too much drone. Plus you already have quad tips which is their biggest selling point.

I hear yea, ive read up some on the drone, supposevly XLR8 is working on something to help eliminate that, but you know how that goes.

What's your suggestion on an exhaust setup than? My only other idea was get a custom exhaust system at the shop that did my CL (Bud's Muffler). Think it be possible to keep the stock tips and just add new pipes?

maybe just add an reasonator ; that's what they are designed for afterall (and you are talking minimal losses with it appropriately sized; especially with a straight through design)

Hot Board Kevin, looks like a vintage burton shirt I had many years ago. I do board but just spent all my money on other things. We'll need to go up soon. Were do you board?

Actually, I just replaced the tips but hated how they looked so put the old tips back on but extended them so they would be flush with the A-Spec kit. I am ordering the RV6 exhaust in about a month or so. I just ordered the RV6 V3 J-Pipe but most likely won't install until I get the exhaust

I have been looking hard into this exhaust question for awhile now. I have done full exhaust mods to all my cars but told myself I wasn't going to for the TL.... Oh well So here is what I found in my research.

Here is how I ranked them based on my needs (Good performance gains, great sound from outside, minimal to no interior cabin drone, not raspy, good looking tips)

1. RV6 - Great performance gains when coupled with J-Pipe; great sound and minimal cabin drone. Also their quad setup for the base/a-spec looks hawt.
2. Comptech - Good solid company with okay gains. No interior drone but sounds good in WOT. Do not like the tips too much, think they are too small for the exhaust opening.
3. Tanabe - Solid product with good gains. Minimal to no cabin drone like the Comptech but like comptech do not like the tips for my car, no offense Kevin, yours look great with your car On that note another Mile High member has this setup and wanted something different.
4. ATLP - Great looking tips (the quad setup, hate the base setup ) great sound from the outside and proven gains. But loud cabin drone and that is a deal breaker for me.
5. XLR8 - Basically the same as ATLP but even worse cabin drone and from what I hear also raspy.
6. Greddy - Great gains but very loud, interior drone, and huge mufflers and tips.... not my style.

I normally replace the heads as part of the exhaust but we don't have them so replacing the J-pipe is a must if you want a fully effective/efficient exhaust system on your car.

I personally think you have the BEST tips of over any aftermarket setup I've seen, hats off to Acura, so if it was me, I would do whatever to your exhaust but keep your OEM tips.... They were born for the TL .

Good info here! I really like my tips right now as well. My only problem with mine is the chrome needs some good polishing. I was looking at the RV6 set up last night, and it looks promising. You going for the true dual setup?

I have never really installed anything mechanical on a car myself (CAI was my cherry popper), but I would like to learn and do as much as I can on the TL-S. So, how hard would it be to order a full aftermarket setup and slap it on?

True dual FTW. just ordered his j-pipe this morning. Hopefully some people get it installed soon so we can get some testimonies.

Installing these components is much easier than the CAI install IMO. They are all bolt on systems. Obviously, if your going to weld your old tips on it would require a trip to the exhaust shop. I be happy to loan my garage, tools and time to help you with it if you wanted.

Yep oem CL wheels. I don't really care for them that much but they're clean. Very minor curb rash, very minor. The guy who traded it in almost cried. He didn't want to part ways with it but had to cause his wife said he needed a 4 door for the new baby. His loss, my gain! Love this car already.
